If you had $4500 and a stock E55...

And you were focused strictly on performance, what would be the best way to improve it? This excludes tires. And what kind of RWHP could one expect?

Curious about this as I go through my car hunting phase and never having owned one of these before.

Thanks!

I was going to ask if this includes labor? Pulley, tune, headers and split cooling for pure parts cost...if you are installing that is the route I would go..480ish rwhp is where you should be with those mods..

Invest in UGAZ - (Natural Gas ETF) --->Sell in February --> Get double back if not more ---> Then ship car to RBJ & ask him

to replicate turbo upgrade ----> then kill all cars on the street ----> then make a thread thanking me

For $4,500 you can get 500 rwhp. Parts for this car are cheap now.

Kleemann headers- $1,500
Tune- $500
Smaller SC pulley- $500
80/82 mm TB- $1,500
Larger HE- $400
Split Cooling-$100

Should be just over 500 whp and 550 tq.

+1 This would be your best starting point. Some of those prices can be beat if you shop around.

If you can install the parts that would help everyone since labor can get high.

What you could do is...

- Pass me the $4,500
- I'll mod my car with my own personal choice of mods
- I'll dyno my car
- Then i'll show you how much RWHP and RWTQ I've gained

LoL. Jk bro.

To answer your question, it would all depend on your own personal preference. Some would suggest intake, pulleys, headers, tune. Others would suggest cooling mods, tune, etc.

Either route you choose will noticeably enhance the car's power. Just depends on how much power you're trying to gain.

Many members here are very knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

I would start with a compression test and some data logging equipment.
Then make sure that both fuel pump/sender units have been changed in the last 60k miles.

This would be my second choice.

First choice would be, spend it on alcohol and drugs so you will 'FEEL' like it is going faster and then find the hottest hookers around and blow the rest on them! Make sure you get video's!

If this is a little excessive then proceed to my, much more boring, second choice!

Interesting!! Is this just below a looped rail and bigger injectors so far as supporting mods go?

Consider looking for a car that already has the go fast mods done.

Id suggest
DATALOGGER ~500
Headers ~2000
Injectors ~500
Cooling ~500-700
Supercharger Pulley and Tune ~800
DEpending on choice of supercharger pulley you'd be around 500whp but most importantly safe and informed.
