Unhappy 2003 SL55 & 2005 E55 ecu question?

The stock ECU from my 2003 SL55 is PN# A113 153 39 79

The replacement stock ECU I was given is from a 2005 E55 PN# A113 153 62 79

Long story short...

The ECU in my 2003 SL55 got "bricked" still not sure how it happened? Anyways I was given the 2005 E55 ecu as a replacement, and it was sent to Beckmann to get unlocked. We (beckmann & I) are still having issues, with getting the replacement to work properly in my SL.

Could this because the two ECU's have different part numbers? I was under the impression that anything above 2004 would not work right with a 2003 model?

BTW beckmann technologies connected to my SDS laptop via bluelink and tried to get it to work, but we could never get the car to start (teach-in settings & VIN scn coding), and was having some communication issues with the replacement ECU.

yes... i'm not sure if there is an actual definition of "bricked" but pretty much the ECU is *****. it cannot be communicated with, or anything else done to it, besides thrown in the garbage.

2003 SL55,2020 GTC ,2017 GTS sold ,2002 G500 Sold,2003 SL500 Sold,
I got a spare ECU with the exact part number ,was told this is the only way this will work, sent it to Beckmann got it unlocked ,my buddy at Benz went online to marry it to my vin ,he said has to go through Germany ,I don't really know ,I have Star system but I couldn't do it because of production date, all is good now NO problems, probably get a race tune now ,don't know if it will help much car is running pretty good with Kleemann box tune, there are plenty of ecu s that are close but I found one exact ,and it was out of an E55 not an SL55 .I don't know if that ECU will ever work ?
My ecu was A113 153 34 79
I have 03 my friend at Benz said after 02 you need to go online to code it,again I do not know if this is fact ,but mine works, same exact part number and online dealership coding, and that was free so he wasn't just telling me this to make some money.

I tried to look up Bricked and basically it's saying it's as useful as a brick ? But there were articles how to recover info ,way above my pay grade ,even if you recovered the info it still may not work because of wrong part number .good luck hope you can get it to work after all of this .

As with any EEPROM if you write to a one time write area then it can be sent into a loop. It might be able to be saved but only if you can find a way to write to it and it's not easy, basically need to unloop it and that is usually done with applying voltage to the EEPROM or Rom ( can't remember which one) at a specific point to make it boot up. I know that was done a while back here in Florida when a tuner accidentally bricked an ecu but it needed special equipment.

oh I know what bricked it, its just that I haven't seen a 55 series ecu hosed for quite a long time. We have done thousands without issue.

and Hulk is right on the money

another ecu was just located with EXACT same part number as my original had (A 113 153 39 79)

its being sent to beckmann to get unlocked, and then we are going to try all the steps all over again.
