I have been using that 3m product and the scratch removal kit for years... If you get the hang of it ... It's an amazing product

Nice work

Nice job! Just the one?

If just the one, that's interesting - I have the opposite headlight only needing done.

Did you remove the headlight, or do it in place?

Jon

if you click the link you'll see my blog post, it's just one
my passenger side light was replaced last year - the motor inside broke so I got a whole new light setup, but the driver side is original and 'was' faded

it was on the car when I polished it - taped it up really good!

A bunch of TT's
Looks good. I used the 3m green version to this as mine was originally a FL car and the buildup was pretty heavy for elbow grease. The 3m lens kit is pretty good

Nice job !

Did you use any sealants or wax on the headlight? People usually do to protect it from UV rays and crap

I had some pretty bad hazing on my headlights, used the turtle wax kit and came out pretty well.

Your lens looks brand new!

I've heard the spray clear coat is the best option - closest to restoring to factory as possible without needing a new headlight...

Thanks!

I was honestly surprised! After doing the 500-grit paper, I thought I was going to die - my mother-in-law came over and said "OMG that looks horrible!"... fortunately it's just part of the process

it's seriously worth the $14, or if you have sandpaper and clearcoat handy you could probably do this for under $10 with the right stuff

I think you're right, Opti-Seal is more of a maintenance item for post washing, I don't have opti-coat (yet) - a little pricey!

I have 3M UV clear UV film on my E63 headlights. Not the best "headlight" picture but it'll do.

Thanks very much for that information! :-)
However, i read your blog entry, and i find that there is a clearly noticable difference between those headlights:

The co-drivers side looks much much clearer. Is that the angle of photo or?

Forget all the sprays toad do the laminex film and don't mess them up with crappy spray cans and make them look like crap and blury. Film will protect Them from ever getting how they were and from rocks.. I've had mine on almost 3 years and they look like brand new again and so does the film. My .02 cent my dude
