Car now 5 months old, and I just realized...

To all those about to receive their car, waiting for their build date, or just contemplating ordering one: You will not be disappointed knowing that there probably has never been a better all around car that is more comfortable to drive or more fun to drive in all situations. True, it's not the best handler, the most fun performer due to the lack of a manual tranny, or the fastest (although very close to being though). What it is is the best all around performance luxury package ever offered as well as being one of the greatest values in performance vehicles (second only to the Z06).
But then again, I'm a little biased.
That being said, I suspect that in the fall of 2005 I will be turning the reigns of the beast over to my wife as I have fallen in love again. The 2006 Z06 Vette with 500+ hp weighing 3200 lbs will be breathtaking.

Ummmmm, where is this chirp coming from? The supercharger?
Great article on comparing the old C5 to the new C6. They did say the next Z06 will be worth the wait. They say quote " It's a greater separation in performance and distinctive appearance from today's car"
I believe the photo you attached is the regular C6. It will be a very fun car.

Imagine what can be done to the C6. I may have just talked myself into another car.

..........I hope you are just being inflamatory to elicit a reaction. From my point of view, I am unable to understand how someone can call himself/herself an automobile enthusiast and at same time fail to appreciate automotive axcellemnce across the spectrum of different manufactures. The W211 is an amazing car. So is the Z06. If you genuinely do not appreciate this, it will make one wonder if you are really an automobile enthusiast or an AMG enthusiast only. Infact many purist will argue that sine the W211 E55's performance is derived from a supercharger, that NA cars such as the Corvette are superior. I don't hold this view but I understand it. I absolutely like the W211 E55........but I also like the Z06, the NZX, the ferarri even the Subaru wrx. I Like the twin turbo s600. I like the new Lotus Elise. It has 190HP toyota engine but it is amazing how they were able to shed so much weight to achieve the excellent performance in that car. These are all different cars that are a cut above the rest. By being totally blind to everything else going on in the automotive world, it makes us look like uninformed snobs........which I do not think we are.

The current Z06 is quite a car;the C6 Z06 will be a monster and will kill almost anything on the track (where I plan to spend quite a bit of time).
Regarding the styling, it's drop dead gorgeous. I suspect the appearance mods to the Z06 version will make it even more aggressive.
Lingenfelter is gone but not forgotten.
Hey Blocktrader, gonna flip your vette for the next Z06? If you SC the new one like you have the old one, you'll probably push 700+ hp. GM is already talking of a Corvette supercar with >700 hp to compete with the Ford GT. Regardless, the hp wars between MB and BMW have continued across the Atlantic and boy, is it sweet!

i had mildly tuned C5 vette and i loved that car, then i traded it and C32 to E55. I wont regret at any day (still my e55 is a lemon) but that C6 is like a Viper with modena tail. YUCK!

I just passed on a GT3 slot because, really why bother.

Don't know about S/C though. If I did it all over I would likely go Twin Turbo. I understand the new car will come in well under 3000 lbs and be 4 inches wider than the current car. Can't wait to get it on the track.
