BROKEN SUPERCHARGER PULLEY DESTROYED my car!!!!
Thats the thousands of dollars I'm talking about. I used to rebuild rotary engines and have been working and racing cars for over 10 years.
I don't have time to work on my cars like I used to growing up therefore it costs money for labor and parts not cheap.

Anyone have experience with running fixed pulleys? Is that a no no?

here is some info on the scattershield. Worth pointing out to those who think the factory pulley is immune to this sort of failure ... the OEM supercharger pulley/clutch on my SL55 came apart similarly (I caught it before it got catastrophic).... motivating me to create a shield for the AMG55 application.

post 54 shows pictures of the original production version.
post 134 shows how to check if your car has a long post or short post
post 136 shows the difference between the 2 versions of the shield.
both versions are available, the long post version is available at a discount until they are gone and the short post version is universal (working on both long and short post cars).
hope that helps.

+1 same here... I only have tune and Kleemann header with IC30 pump. The rest are cosmetic 63 bumper with rear diffuser and spoiler. I think my car is fast enough to take more risk. Plus, I rather save my money when other things go wrong.
I swear people need to do their research and be able to back it up before putting numbers out there.
No wonder it becomes difficult to find any accurate info on the internet nowadays.

No wonder it becomes difficult to find any accurate info on the internet nowadays.I guess maybe if you're heatsoaked beyond all return, those numbers are probably accurate.
