Quote: Can't believe people buy a part that requires a scatter shield for when it fails
I think that if you read my original post in this thread you'll notice that I created the scatter shield because my OEM pulley failed. But any useful input you care to add is always appreciated.

Cheers,
Chris

START OF NEW LIST (list #2)
All of the first batch were spoken for before they were even done, so a new batch is being made. Members who MAY want one should ask to be added (ask in this thread, I will add you to the list below). Once you see yourself on the list, the next step is that you will hear from me when I am getting ready to ship (approx 3-24-15 for this batch). Assuming you still want it when I contact you, I will give you payment info and we will proceed from there.

REMEMBER, getting on the list is NOT a commitment to buy; getting on the list guarantees you an opportunity to buy one when they become available.

Please see post number 54 for the pictures of the production version of the scattershield and post 71 for a short video showing it installed on a running motor (along with the engine cover going on) Unlike the proto I made (that looked nearly identical) this part is All Stainless Steel, Laser-cut, machine rolled ... and ready to go.

Again, this DOES fit under the factory front cover.

The Scattershield takes less that 10 minutes to install, but comes with complete install instructions (annotated pictures for those who don't like to read much : ) All that is required to install it is a 17mm wrench and a 9/64" allen wrench.

The Scattershield works on all AMG 55 cars AND with all factory and aftermarket pulley combinations AND with or without the Belt Wrap Kit.

Anyone who gets on the list will be able to by one at the previously indicated kind-of special price of $105 (those who added themselves to the list before 2-23-15 but missed the first batch are still eligible for the special intro price of $95).
Shipping (2-day priority) in the US is $6 (international shipping should be $25-$29 in most cases). Free US shipping for 2 or more.

I just received my scattershield but have yet to install it. Let me just say that I am extremely impressed by the quality of this piece. Just holding it in your hand you can tell that it is extremely well made and heavy duty as well. Chris is a class act and very pleasant to deal with. Service and communication is second to none. I would not hesitate to purchase from him again in the future. Thanks Chris!

Having installed the scattershield along with the SC cover on my E55 I can absolutely corroborate the quality of both the design and the parts.

Shield goes on simply via removal of the SC belt and nothing else. Position it, tighten the Allen screw, reinstall belt and done. Kit includes custom made metal spacers that bolt on with existing screws and factory holes to relocate the retaining clips on the SC cover for it to work with the shield. The fact that even the supporting parts are constructed so well illustrates the seller's very high standards.

Put mine on yesterday. It's very good quality and well thought out.

I did not need to remove the pulley - just the belt

I think that once you get it in your hands you will realize that it would even be a good deal at twice the price ...

The intro price has passed, but I will give you free 2-day shipping (in the US) on 2 or more.

let me know if you want me to add you to the current list for the upcoming batch. Getting on the list in no way obligates you to buy one ... it just holds your spot (as they will likely be spoken for before they start shipping, just like last time).

Cheers,
Chris
