Pano Sunroof Issue - Motor Being Stupid

Pano Sunroof Issue - Motor Being Stupid
Hey All,

I'm having issues with my pano roof. It closes fine but when it's done closing and I'm still holding the button, I get a clicking noise from the motor area. It's like the motor doesn't know when to stop or is lacking resistance levels. This started after I cleaned and lubed the rails and was opening and closing the roof a lot to get everything coated.

Also, does anyone know how to resolve the creaking sound that comes from the seam where the sunroof meets the pano glass? When I crack the sunroof this creaking totally stops.

yeah, motor is going out. it's about $400 on parts.com , do not go for the dealership for this as it will cost a few mortgage payments.

And don't run the motor too much with it making that sound - you'll tear up the series of cables that operate the roof.

It's normally the plastic gear on the motor which is not sold separately . One of MB's notorious fails.

my roof just started this... the roof itself opens/closes, but the shade is stuck open...

hopefully warranty takes care of it this week

Mine was doing this. It wouldn't close the shade and clicked. I googled reset pano roof found a video and reset it. Everything is fine now. Still clicks occasionally but seems normal
