Sounds like a pain in the *** for an engine with a 6500 redline

Possibly, but if I can make a set for reasonable money, I'd give them a try.

Just replace the hydraulic part of your rocker tips with something solid and that will get you what you're after. Then you're burdened with either dialing in the correct thickness shims to get valve lash where it needs to be, or making the rocker arms adjustable. The hydraulic lifter tips on these engines are really small and light , plus the rev range is limited so I see no benefit personally.

If I end up doing this, I will go for adjustable lifters only. Wanted the higher profile cams so thought I'd address this too, if the cost to make them is not astronomical. Stronger top end is what I'm after as I'm building for Vmax. Sent an email to a manufacturer in Germany, will see what they say.

Sent you a PM the other day, wonder if you've received it.

Made some progress on this. Apparently, Kleemann camshafts were designed for hydraulic lifters so they are out of question.

Thought I had a few old tappets from when I swapped them previously but turned out I chucked them away (one of those d'oh moments). What's more, Mercedes had to discontinue them for the M113 and only sell them as a whole assembly with the rocker ($100/ea). I believe M275 has the same tappets, which can still be bought separately. Would love someone to confirm that though.

Will update this thread when I get a bit further with my research.

EDIT: Tappets for the M275 and M113 *should* be the same. Ordered one, will confirm.

Alex i just checked for the tappets at work like 2 days ago and they are still available. Use a non AMG vin and the tappets are available. The Part numbers are the same as the regular 112/113 tappets. I am able to get them next day they are available in Jacksonville.
Part numbers for the tappets are A113 050 03 80 for exhaust and A 113 050 00 80 for intake but then the 0080 intake supersede to the 03 80 number.

I could not tell a difference between the intake and exhaust tappets when removed. I thought of this as well as I am dealing with a reground set of cams and we took ..050" off the base circle. This puts my tappets at the very end of plunger travel and I was thinking to switch to solids. Catcams in europe sells a solid tappet kit but they want $1k and it doesn't show how you would shim for proper lash. I have yet to come up with a solution that doesn't have the larger portion of the tappet extending too far out of the rocker itself, but this may not matter once going to solids.
