Can you (or anyone) point me to an ebay link. I see a couple where they have the hood/trunk badge...is that what you are using? I was thinking it was too small as the engine cover logo was more like 3"
Craig - BTW, 1/2 mile in Clayton in May 30th or 31st?![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Thanks...

Glad I saw this post as the star on mine came loose and disappeared. I was looking at replacing the entire cover but this looks like a far more sensible idea!

I have a large hole where the MB Star was. The belt came off and broke the clips. I would like to find a cool aftermarket replacement as well.

Last try...then I'm moving on...can anyone share a link (ebay or whatever) to a logo that will work on the engine cover? Either I'm terrible at searching or not seeing one that is large enough to work over the ~3" spot where my MB star is off the cover now.

I spoke to Worth_the_Wait who owns the motor pictured above and apparently there is a thread in the forum somewhere outlining how he went about this mod. He thinks it was a trunk badge or similar that he made fit. If I find the thread or any further info I'll post the instructions/advice here...

I would make sure to use a good glue/rtv to seal it to the cover
You wouldn't want that to slide off on a hot day into the fan/belt area

#1 - Thanks for the link. Purchased (check)
#2 - I thought the factory star to be 3" ...this one seems to be about 2.5"...however I'm just guessing others just made it work after painting the engine cover
#3 - Good point on not slipping off, it will be a permanent fixture when done
Berti Scoops and Valve Covers off to the powercoater tomorrow and silver caliper paint to clean up the supercharger on order as well.

I used a steel brush and brushed the supercharger. It looks brand new. Give that a shot instead of spray painting it. Mine was heavily soiled with dirt

Thanks! When I saw your original post...I knew it was only a matter of finding the downtime.
Surge tanks and Scoops are getting powdercoated today. I've taped off everything and ready to start cleaning to Supercharger....though I think I've checked my tape like 3 times to make sure I'm covered. Did you do anything other then cleaning prior to painting the engine cover & airboxes black?

I made sure I covered as much components as I could and draped an old sheet over the windscreen etc
