what is a popular drag tire size?

What is the smallest size wheel I can go and fattest drag radial? I have a bunch of Audi wheels laying around and I know they use the same bolt pattern

Clk rims 255/50/16 Hoosier

OR

18" Mickey Thompson ET streets

The clk should be better since they are much lighter and the Hoosier has more side wall for hooking

I've got 255/50/16 Hoosier DOT Drag Radials with 20mm spacers (and 50mm lugs). There is no rubbing with the car in factory lowered mode, but they are right on the verge.

Btw, do you launch these cars with only traction control off or in dyno mode?

I managed a 1.8 60 Foot time on stock tires. I launched in Dyno Mode, Trans set to sport, and car raised.

On my car traction control off only sort of turns it off. It seems these cars vary with how they handle that. But in mine even with it off it will still activate if its violent enough.

I don't bother with dyno mode. I used to race with T/C ON when I was on street tires, but the Hoosiers hook well enough that I leave it off after doing my burnout and just stomp on the gas at the last yellow light. Running 17psi in the tires got me a 1.788s 60' time. Next time I'm at the track I'll try running 15psi and see if I can cut some more time off the 60'.

I'm wondering for how much because if you put 5 lug bolts on a scale you will be surprised.
