OBDII USB cable registers, but interface does not work, Please Help!

OBDII USB cable registers, but interface does not work, Please Help!
So as the title says I have a USB cable that shows up with the info and drivers on my device manager, but when I try to use any OBDII software, it can't make the connection saying there is no interface. Anyone have an idea what I need to do?

I think so too, I tried on another laptop and same issue, so I just went on ebay and ordered another USB cable, too bad advance auto parts or autozone don't sell the OBD II USB by itself. Anyways lets see what happens with another cable.

I've had issues with cables and drivers. In some cases, I've had to manually install drivers through the device manager. Different cables made with different chipsets can make the process maddening. I can't even upload a tune with my laptop running Win 8.1. I have an old netbook with Win 7 that does work, after some messing around.
It took me trying three different Serial to USB cables before I could connect to my Zeitronix equipment.

I did a lot of trial and error stuff to get it working. FTDI drivers are what (IIRC) I used to get it working. Check this page out:

Do you know what brand the cable is or is it just a generic?

It's a generic OBDII USB cable I got from Eurocharged, I thought I downloaded this driver but I'll try again. I also read somewhere that microsoft net framework might need to be updated so I'm gonna try that too.

I'm hoping it's not some stupid SL65 only problem, when TTBoost had his SL65 and bought a MyGenius for some reason EC couldn't have files work on the unit for the 65. But at least he saved me the trouble of finding out before buying the unit lol

Well still no luck with the drivers, I think maybe the chip inside is busted cause I just tried it on another car and no luck either

Called Eurocharged today, they remote into my pc via team viewer, and did something to reset the cable itself. After that it works!!!! Got the eui file I need, plus I didn't realize the Euroflash v.2 program is an OBDII scaner that can check and clear codes as well as log data, really sweet program thats free. (well cable is 100 bucks but still worth it)
