Hammer, you mentioned earlier in the thread that anything above ~172 crank pulley needs an 82mm TB. Why is that?

I've seen it mentioned before that stock TB's are good for up to 600HP, thus I've never bothered, especially considering the 'hiccup' issues others have spoke of. I still tend to believe that cooling is the biggest problem.

anything bigger than a 175mm i would go with an 82mm. the more air that you can force in the engine the more power you can make

It seems that something is wrong with my car if these cars are running such high mph in the 1/4

My mods are as follows

Evosport Shortie Headers with primaries deleted
Stock secondary cats, Stock resonator, Stock Mufflers
175MM Crank
Eurocharged Beltwrap Kit
Split Cooling
82MM MB Throttle Body
Intake Scoops
K&N Filters

Car dynoed at 480whp/590ftlb on a dynojet

I ran a 11.44@123.01 on probably the best DA I could get. It was last November in Wisconsin with low humidity probably 50degrees

I was thinking of putting an x pipe, killer chiller, trunk tank and meth in but i just cant see getting 6mph in the 1/4 with these mods. When I ran the car at 80degrees and mild humidity my best mph was 121 and went down to 117 after back to back to back pulls. Some of you guys say you are running 128mph in 80 degrees.

I went anywhere from 130-133mph when it was 82 degrees outside. My IAT would be right around 34-35 degrees at the start of a run and usually no more than 110 by the end of a run. IAT's are HUGE with these cars

Agreed!!!!

Additional cooling is a must on these cars. Just a HE and pump is not enough for a stage 3.

Is there any specific reason no one in this last has just simply upgraded the super charger pulley with a smaller pulley vs swapping out the crank pulley?

The smaller sc pulleys weren't around when we did those runs.

Do a search on sc pulleys reliability

Have the grenades been spread around the total production run, or were they isolated to the earlier units? I have one awaiting installation, but I'm on the fence as to whether I should pick up a scatter shield before I go down that road.

A scattershield would be a good investment...

Took me 24 pages but I found it!

Just wanted to bump it, as I'm about to buy some headers, cats, retune and see what should be my next step from there.

Some guys also need to realize some of those higher mph runs and times are NOT on straight 91-93. Race gas and a good tune alone Id guess is worth 4-5mph on its own.

Good thread mine. Just bought a trunk tank, Snow stage 2 meth kit and 82mm TB. Would be nice to get it in for the start of the drag season here.
