I figured I post a group buy for fueling mods. I get a lot of inquires for 550cc injector and harness packages.

8 x 550cc Bosch Injectors
8 x FAST connector harness

Price is 399 plus ship for 5 to 10 confirmed orders.

Post if interested

I don't think I've ever seen a group buy for this. Nice thinking.

Hypothetical question related to being efficient (with my time): If one were to do a valve cover gasket job, would it be easier to do these at that moment?

Nvm, injectors look way less involved.

Is there any downside to upgrading injectors? I think I read that mpg readings in the dash cluster no longer read accurately?

I'm at 500whp now, and will be upgrading to 180mm crank soon. Maybe should upgrade injectors too? Did Renntech do injectors with their packages? I don't remember seeing injectors with their 180 crank and 82mm throttle body packages.

Does bigger injectors mean new tune or pig rich?

Probably not.. If you dyno 500+ on a mustang or DD then probably yes.. Add a 82 tb and I would definitely go to 550's.. Look at my mods, when I did my 82tb I did the 550's and looped rail at the same time.. Just my 02....

Any driveability issues with the throttle body? I remember guys had a ruffer idle when they were first starting to install this mod. Did you notice the powere difference after?

One puts in bigger injectors to add more fuel and keep AFR safer at higher boost levels (otherwise why put in bigger injectors?) .. more fuel = less MPG. It is possible to get increased MPG at cruising speeds if the tune is set to being leaner over stock but in general if you have more power you will want to use it (i.e drive harder as you said ).

The only possible downside to adding larger injectors is a rougher idle although I have not seen this yet myself in any of the cars I have upgraded injectors on.
Whatever the case, a tune would be mandatory.

These injectors are cheap at $50 a piece, wow! Are these flow matched by chance?

Yeah, the injectors were also done with a dump pipe and turbo actuator. So combo of a few things. With the Ford I had, car wouldn't run without stock injectors (needed a tune to run).

I would agree that without a tune, if you had larger injectors the car would get worse mpg, as it is spraying more fuel (literally) thinking it has the smaller injectors.

Two more questions regarding the bigger injectors.

1. Is a looped rail still a necessity with larger injectors

2. Can the stock fuel pump deliver the extra fuel that might be called for by the larger injectors?

None.. I had it dyno tuned by Jerry after this install.. Car made 566whp on a mustang Idle is fine, you really notice the throttle response on the freeway, especially since I have long tubes.. My last race, (in Mexico of course) against a "brand new" R8 V10 fome 65 to 165 I pulled on him by 6-7 lengths.. Nice guy but all he could do is shake his heads in disbelief as he just spent aprrox 180k on his car..

You're fortunate to live so close to Mexico. I have to take a ferry across the Gulf.

bosch

the one that fit with out the harness are red in color. reason we dont use those is because they dont have a groove to fasten them to the fuel rail like the OEM ones.
