Heat coming front the Transmission Tunnel

I picked up my 04 e55 3 months ago and so far having a blast.

I did a search but didn't find any results.

The problem i am having is my arm rest storage area gets really hot and i noticed the drive side of the transmission tunnel next to the drive seat gets really hot. The storage space in front of the shifter gets pretty hot as well. Feels like there is lots of heat coming through after driving.

passenger side of the tunnel does not have any heat.

Any ideas on what could be causing this heat?

Thanks guys

I have the same problem and found out it is the aftermaket head unit wires and cables that gets hot.

Along this line, also check if you are getting hot air when the rear temps are set to cold, your valve may be bad

This was the issue. Thanks. but the rear driver temperature sometimes gets reset back to max hot some times by it self i think. anyway to prevent this?
is there an auto setting that i can reset?

For some reason every so often my car resets to a 72 degree temp for rear, making the tunnel hot. Its weird, but all I do is every so often check the rear temp on the climate control and make sure to adjust as needed. I like my car cold anyways, so keep it at 68 degree.

Try asking your question here. Usually a technician can help you answer that.

Tell your kids to quit playing with the controls.
