Quote: What about mounting them before the cats ? That would actually have some benefits for drag racing. Would be awesome on the E63 Turbo. I did one on a lowly 400 WHP 3.8 turbo GP and it gave 35 WHP nothing else changed. Same day same dyno. Turbos really love no restrictions in exhaust.
That would take a lot of custom work as their really is no room there.

Here is an install that we are doing on an E55. The only thing not shown on here is the turndowns.

I would say that we are probably both the longest install time and the most money labor wise to do the job. We really do take our time and do the install in the cleanest way possible and that is why. Most people just cut a hole in the exhaust and weld the cut-outs on while the exhaust is on the car. We just feel that this is not how we want our company represented when the car leaves the shop.

With that being said, I would say it's an all day job even though it is fairly easy work. I would offer a heavily discounted labor rate for the job at $65.00/hour (normal labor rate is $126.00/hour) but you should expect us to use up an entire 8 hour day. What you will get is an install that looks as close to a factory Mercedes part as possible.

If you wanted to do before and after dyno runs I would tell you the car would need to be here for two days.

Been thinking about trying to fit cutouts right after my Longtubes before my xpipe, think it would work? (No cats).

It depends on the room you have but you may want to consider a set of round cut-outs with some custom piping. We stock all the different cut-outs.

If you happen to be local we would be happy to take a look for you and go over what we could do.

These would be awesome post headers and before cats, they wouldn't fit though would they?

Actually to anyone who knows, are open headers dangerous to the valvetrain? I heard running open headers can damage your valves, is that true?

Dyno results
Do you have any dyno results for/from a dual cut out only install in front of the mufflers for a stock 2007 E63. Great looking work in your pictures. Thanks.

This is a much better install so you do not see them, however it will depend on the layout if this is possible on different models.

Quote: Anybody been able to hide them better than this?

had the same problem, hated the look and also hit them when I backed into a kerb one day and the knock went through the whole car.

flaps started to rattle and sounded like an exhaust leak so removed them in the end......another waste of time and money
