Dynamic seat side bolster/bladder

Hi guys, the driver seat side bolsters stop working for a long time, change the seat module at the back of the seat with no luck, pump is working properly, so it should be the bolsters, just want to ask if anyone have change them.

Checked EPC it just say seat adapter, not sure if thats the bolster, can anyone verify it please?

I have replaced mine, if you take the back cover off the seat, 2 screws at the bottom, then unhook the metal cage like part, you will see the bladder it will be on a plastic mount, it has the part number on it, they split at the seams, took Mercedes in the UK 8 weeks to get me one as it had to be made

Are you replacing a particular bolster on the seat, or neither of them work? My left bolster is starting to feel weaker than my right one on the Driver's seat... (slower to inflate, needs a "harder" turn to inflate, doesn't inflate as hard) compared to the right side bolster on the same seat...

My drivers seat is leaking from rightside bladder. I can feel it starts to build a little pressure but then drops to zero, while the leftone fills up. So the bladder can be changed with the seat in car? Do you remember if anything else needs to be taken apart than the rear cover? Thanks!

Both of them don't inflate nor deflate, I wanted to be replace them, so I am asking if anyone can provide me the part number, since I am not sure if the one I posted were the correct one. The one I post on top cost around $40 something only from ECS Tuning, and it seems to be too cheap for that, appreciate for have any input, thanks.

anyone replace bladders in the seat bottom? Mine has a leak thanks to the dealer's tech repeatedly dropping his 300lb *** into the seat.

If it's the bolsters that are on the back portion of the seat on the sides (parts that hug you as you corner) then yes it's easy to get to/get out, push the seat forwards and tilt it forwards.

Then get in the back of the car, there are a couple of torx screws on the bottom of the rear cover, undo them then pull the bottom towards you and down and it will come off, you will see at the bottom of the seat a black box with the hoses going in to it, you will also be able to see the bolster inflatables, they will have a white paper like protective covering on them and they are installed in to a plastic bracket.

To get them out you will see there is a metal spring frame that covers the back of the seat, unhook it from the sides of the chair, then you can undo the screw holding the plastic bracket which houses the bubble inflatable.

The white protective covering over the bubble will have the part number on it if I'm right the left hand bolster is this part number A211 910 01 75

Just took my drivers rightside bolster out and got it fixed. I melted the plastic and got it to hold, atleast for now.

Its on by one screw and needs a little wiggling to get out but its easy.. just like said before here.

Heres some pics.

Can someone confirm that part#?

I cant read that..

This is awesome!

Any idea how long it took to remove the bladder? From getting inside the car to removing it from the car? (just so I can plan if this is a weekend morning project, or a half hour after work in the driveway).

i don't even want to fix it right now, but just pull it out, inspect it, and put it back.

Thanks!

I would say it took me about 30 min to get it out. But i was going back and forth the car and my garage to get some tools and i was really taking my time. So if i'd do it "in a hurry" its propably 10-15 min max
Take the back cover off, two tx20 torx screws at bottom. Then take the sprigs that hold that metal thing on place and then you can get it out. Its on by one screw from the top and on the bottom it has just a fitting that connects to the seat frame

Good timing! Mine just failed.

I wonder if we could use a bicycle tire patch kit to fix it.

You can always try. But if its leaking like mine did from the seam, its pretty easy to melt it.

Bagman, what symptoms did your have? Just a general 'weak' feeling of the bolster?

My right side bolster basically stopped working. If I tried to manually inflate it, I would feel one pulse from that bolster, then nothing. The left side bolster worked fine.

Edit: I think I did notice it being weak in the beginning - the hole must have been small at that point

Mine did exactly the same, witch is pretty obvious

I made this repair on mine tonight. I used Aquaseal by itself. I think it was developed for wetsuit repair. Regardless, worked great for me. Bonds well and stays flexible. Covered the hole and let cure for 24 hours. No more leak.

Excellent write up! I applied to my E55 this morning. Mine's a 2005 and the plastic adapter holding the bladder is riveted to the metal frame of the seat. So I had to pull out the bladder by squeezing my hand in and pulling it out through the front.
Small rip in one of the seems and managed to fix it by melting the plastic carefully with a soldering iron.
