Would you buy this warranty if you were me?
Details:
I won't be doing any repairs myself, I don't even have the ability to do my own oil changes, so please keep that in mind.
2006 E55 AMG 39k miles, fully loaded x-distronic
2 owner very well maintained
Only problem right now: valve cover seapage
Fidelity Platinum Coverage, $250 ded.
72k additional miles
cost: $6200
I'm thinking this is a no-brainer. What do you all think?
SBC, a couple of airmatic issues, thats over 6k right there. Then there's everything else that can go wrong.

Do you think you will be modifying it?
FWIW, take the $6,200 and do coil overs, preventative maintenance and pocket the rest. Things will happen, most insurance companies will try to wiggle out from under a RO with AMG on it. They are pretty sound vehicles if maintained well.

And to be honest with you.
The dealers are incompetent as the independents.
The car is so old, no one knows how to work on them anymore
Very frustrating experience at the dealer this past January.
Save the money and put it aside.
Six years of owning a E55, i didnt come across anything outrageous where i couldnt do it myself or pay a shop to do.

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
I have a different thought ... I would spend that $6200 and be happy they are offering a warranty at all on a 9 year old amg with a known issue already that is undifferentiated
If you are committed to this car then invest in some peace of mind, take everyone's advice with a cumulative grain of salt
Some have great experiences with amg, some have extremely expensive nightmare experiences

Thanks all. I'm leaning towards buying one. I drive 17k miles a year so I think it's it to me to have peace of mind.

Look into Wings Financial Credit Union. They have outstanding warranty programs. I just added one to my E63. $2400 for 72months, 75K miles and a $250 deduct. It is also the platinum version so it covers everything. After having a few expensive electrical repairs, it made fiscal sense for me to purchase.

Don't forget, you can also get a pro-rated refund if you decide you don't want the warranty any longer

$6200 not worth it. I have own my E55 for more than 6 years, spent less than $2K in repair. Not counting the maintenance items as tires, batteries etc... Just convert to Coilover for less than $2K and spend $2K in maintenance and this car will last very long. Find a good indy shop is the most important.
