Pricing check: Super Low Mile 2004 E55
Before anyone asks I've tried searching Autotrader, eBay and even the classifieds here.
I did a KBB value, but I know that cannot be accurate for a niche vehicle like our E55s.
I am looking into investing into more property, and my E55 doesn't get driven much so I may sell it to help fund a down payment.
The car has 28,200 miles as it sits today. It is a Brilliant Silver on Black 2004 with Panoramic Roof and Keyless Go. Only modifications are a set of OEM SL65 wheels (with almost new Bridgestone Potenza RE050s) and painted reflectors.
Car is garaged 100% of the time, and sits on a battery tender. Car gets a oil change every year at the dealer, regardless of miles. IC pump was replaced under warranty soon after I bought it in 2007 (CPO from MBZ of San Diego, 15K miles). Both batteries were replaced recently.
Reason for the low miles is I had a E46 M3, E39 M5 and a Supra TT to also drive, all of which are gone now. I will probably look into a P-car in the future.
I figure this forum (the classifieds actually, I understand) is the best place to market the car, and will do so once I get a better understanding of it's current value.

You might start there, but as a data point, I got my 100% stock silver/black 2005 with 48K miles six months ago for $18K. Its' loaded but does not have pano roof or Nav. No condition issues. Prices from what I have seen are all over the place, and the low miles should command a premium, but I am not sure buyers are going to pay $4-6K above a car with say....75K miles on it. These cars have power and are a great bargain, but doesn't command the collector prices E39 M5 are starting to...(yes, I had one too)

That's true, there are a lot more E55s available on the market than M5s.
I saw a clean AW 2003 M5 go for $35K.
I miss mine, but I have found that an E90 M3 is a very close runner up. It's almost as big, quicker, better handling, the LCI rear end and iDrive is great.
The E39 M5's recirculating ball steering and VANOS issues (extra fun in California due to smog) makes me less nostalgic.
Best looking BMW sedan ever, though.
As for the $18K price, that's the median I have seen for "normal" mileage cars (75K is a good number)

You should get around 22k. So start at 24-25. Good service records and 1-2 owners helps a lot . When I Was looking I found most cars had 4-6 owners in the 11 years. I didn't like that at all.

Number of owners, miles, history and condition all play a part.
There are buyers out there you only need one.
I think the low mile E55 prices are trending up, $25K is realistic.
In 2003-4 the E55's were selling for $15k over sticker.

I also share your sentiments regarding the E39 M5, my favorite BMW 5 series, love the steering on the 525i and 530i, but don't like the numbness on the 540i and M5. It's great to read someone who has real experience with the E39 M5 and also smaller-engined E39s who can really give an objective opinion that separates you from the "fanboys" that plague these kinds of websites.
So, since you've sold all of your cars except the E55, what are you driving now? Besides your E55?

Sorrento Mesa (work in Mission Valley). Love to see it, but already have one that I paid too much for but had exactly my color and options wanted - so I would be relegated to tire kicker status.

If it helps, I picked up my 2006 silver 3 weeks ago, all options (but not distronic and phone wiring) for $24.5k. One California owner, perfect exterior condition/interior condition, 37k miles. No accidents.
