[Resolved] Customer Experience with Unleashedwheels.com

Just giving everyone a warning that these guy sent me rims for a e320 not a e55 so obviously they wont clear the brakes. Since they were re-drilled to fit the w211 bolt pattern they wont return them

Just wanted to warn everyone about these guys,

DO NOT BUY FROM UNLEASHEDWHEELS.COM

Well if they sent you the wrong wheels that don't fit they would go back. Tell them your sending them back for the correct ones or you will file a lawsuit and report them to the BBB.

DO not buy wheels from Unleashedwheels.com

You pay by CC? Or PayPal?
you could use spacers to clear the brakes
What on earth do these wheels look like if you had them redrill to a 5x112 bolt pattern

Something is totally wrong here... Re drilled them... I've never heard of that ...

What kind of savings did you get from this site that was worth trying them out?

they are BBS lm replicas, I tried a spacer but they stick out way too much i didn't even want to try on tires the shape of the inside wheel doesnt allow much room for the brakes...I used a debit card IM trying to do a chargeback and I also took you r advice ls1 and reported them to the BBB

re-drilling replicas just sounds scary to me, kind of a good thing you're not able to put them on your car. there is quite the options for lm replicas in a 5x112 if you really wanted to go that inexpensive route but remember you always get what you play for, that goes for the service as well. hope you're able to still get this issue situated somehow.

do you mind sharing how much you paid, and for what wheels?

That shop is in San Diego? A little hole in the wall joint across the street from the navy base.

They were BBS LM style wheels, I made them fit after a lot of headaches but they could of been more helpful and they still didn't fit as they suggested they would.
What I didn't like is that the salesman insisted to mount tires on them and they know you cant return them after you mount a tire so they coudl wash their hands of the problem.

I'm very confused about the "re-drilling" part. As stated above, the bolt pattern is the same (5x112), so there should have been no "drilling" required. Now, if these were wheels meant for a different make, i.e. BMW, I could see some kind of crazy modification process to make them fit. Good luck.

I think the OP is confused. Both are same bolt pattern but yes offsets will be an issue and if the E320 wheel is 17", it won't even fit over the AMG brakes. You should have just return the wheel and be over it

he's not confused, he purchased a set of wheels in a 5x114 bolt pattern with sizes that are not recommended to clear his calipers and now the shop won't take the wheels back due to the custom re-drilling. if they couldn't find a set of fake lm's in a 5x112 for you, that should have been the first warning that they don't know much about what they're doing. either that or they don't give a ****.

My name is RUben, I am the owner of Unleashed Wheels. The refund request for customer ****-****** was denied, the product that the customer purchased was a special order and per our terms and conditions special orders are not refundable. Customer called in order to ask for advice on fitment, we explained to customer that the specs of the wheels are exactly what is recommended for his vehicle, he then stated that his vehicle had a big brake kit from factory and that is when we explained that when a car has a big brake kit wheels with a Lip Design as the ones he is attempting to purchase take away from the clearance of the calipers and it would be required for him to use spacers to clear. We advised the customer that he would need at least a 10mm to a 15mm spacer to clear the calipers but customer stated that after doing his own research he found that someone had the exact same wheels in his car and only needed a 6mm spacer. We explained to the customer that we cannot promise that it is the same wheel and we do not want to guarantee that a 6mm would clear. Customer then proceeded with his purchase. I have attached an audio recording of the conversation with the customer.
*****

This is the Reply from BBB and the complaint was closed because the phone call that was recorded was also sent in with the dispute. We are an honest company, when we advise our customers that wheels will not fit and customer state that they did their own research and know they will fit we cannot be held accountable for that and unfortunately we came across this thread after the dispute was closed. We really ask that if these kind of responses will be posted please be fully honest on the thread. We cannot return wheels if a customer wanted to purchase them at his own risk even after we explained fitment. After the audio recording was sent we had no issues with CC company or BBB.

OP just got smashed!

So, there was no re-drilling done to the wheels?

Re-Drilling was done as requested by the customer, from 5X114.3 to 5X112, the integrity of the wheel is not compromised since its only a 2mm difference, it is by far much safer then using wobble bolts of any kind. Re-Drilling services have been offered for many years and no issues have been reported. The issue here is that OP is stating that we recommended the fitment and no longer wanted to return the wheels, before we denied the return we listened to the phone call to assure that it was not an issue on our part, if it was we would have returned the wheels no problem. But since we explained to him that this was not going to clear the calipers but yet he insisted that he did his own research we cannot be held liable for the fitment. We dont like to put anyone on blast but him bashing on our company with inaccurate information is not right.

yup factory brakes, when you have a big brake kit whether its from factory or aftermarket any wheels with a lip and a flat face will not clear the calipers unless you get a low offset for example ET12. Lip takes away from the clearance of the caliper. Unless you special order Forged wheels anything with a lip and a flat face will not clear, For Example if you get a work meister style wheel, that curves out and goes back in, with that style it will clear with a higher offset since its giving the calipers some clearance due to the design of the spokes.
