Need Crank Pulley

As some of you would be aware I have just finished having the motor rebuilt. When the shop went to put the crank pulley back on they discovered the notch for the keyway was 20 thou too wide which was pretty surprising considering it was only purchased last year and has only been used for probably 8 months of driving. I would like to know why it widened like this in such a short time? They say the strain of rapidly accelerating then decelerating, but that doesn't sound right especially considering this pulley is built on the oem harmonic balancer?
Anyway Shardul suggested a new notch and keyway be cut but the engineer at the shop is reluctant - probably because he's concerned about honouring the warranty and wants everything perfect, who knows?
Therefore I'm thinking to put a stock pulley back on just until the motor's been well run in at least then see about reinstalling the 180 with a new keyway. Does anyone have any thoughts about that plan of attack and/or have a crank pulley lying around that they'd be happy to part with on the cheap - oem or reliable after-market? I just missed a 168 Kleeman on eBay that would have been ideal! Otherwise this one might be the go for $175 although it looks a bit old but that might be from sitting around for a while:

I'll be pinning it, no worries there. Should be mandatory for any oversized pulley.
