Advice please: ** QTP Electronic cutouts**
Hey guys
I am considering this as a flexible option to give my s63 W221 a bit more voice when I want it. I have done a fair bit of research and it all looks pretty good with the exception of possible exhaust leaks as a result of the butterfly not fully closing.
For those of you who have experience with the QTP set up, could you please weigh in and give me some feedback?? Any leaks? rattles? other issues I need to be aware of?
Thanks in advance
BA

No bro that's intentional. The 211 gets a lot more traffic and more of the E55 guys are likely to mod their cars Vs the folks in the 221. I used to have an E55 and I recall a couple of guys had the cutouts here and hence the post.

they are pretty good and are used by some well know exhaust system manufacturers.
occasionally you will see some units go bad due to electronics being burnt out.

I don't have the QTP on my MB, but ten years or so ago I had their dp on my Evo. It was awesome. Didn't have any problem in the two years I had it. Key word is Locktite every nuts and bolts.

According to the info I gathered from the manufacturer today, the key is to keep the butterfly mechanism clean by using Liquid Wrench to clean the carbon build up once per month.

I ran them on my e55 for 3 years, hands down my favorite mod. I installed them right off my long tubes headers, and the only thing that went bad during that time frame was a fuse in the circuite. I replaced that bad boy and good to go, you will love them.

I have them on my CLS 55 AMG and I love them. Here is my forum post from when I got them:
Got my exhaust cut outs from World motor sports today. Took them to a local exhaust shop. The owner said they wouldn't do any thing, they would be hard to install, etc. I whiped out $5k from my pocket, told him I would pay him for jis time and I had confidence he could do the job. He said ok. He called me 2 hours later and said come get your car. He did a fantastic job. I took her home, wired them up, and they are bad *** !. All the wiring is in the trunk. I ran the wires thru the drain hole plug under the spare. I put the remote control in the spot where the DVD nav in the trunk is. They work great with the remote. Don't even consider using the toggle switch control, it would be a huge job to run the wire and switch from inside the car to the mufflers. It took me 1 1/2 hrs to wire them up nice. If you can wire a stereo or a extra light, you can wire these cut outs up, no problem. They work great and sound AWESOME ! here is a video I made just for the forum. Cost me $450 for the goods and $200 for the muffler guy. If you spend the $$ for this mod you will be happy.
