No benefit unless you are adding a separate cooling tank.

without the rear tank the fluid in the split IC circuit will boil and shoot out through the breather hole on the cap of the BMW reservior

Thanks for your input guys. That was my thought also. Without having a larger tank my guess is that the benefits would be very minimal. I also have not seen any data logs. I'm sure someone as but have not found it.

Would be cool if someone would sell the window washer fluid tank for a ic cooling tank. Use a small part of it for 8 oz of ww fluid and the rest be plumbed for the IC.

That's why I've decided to go with the Cobra intercooler tank. It was made for liquid intercoolers. I believe its sealed and it has a return up top and is gravity fed on bottom. I think this would be ok with split cooling.

What do you think?

Who has the details and or pics of where to connect in the coolant hoses and what fittings are needed? Getting ready to plumb up my underhood tank. I've searched like a mad man but can't seem to find the thread I need.

Yes the cobra tank works well as it has a pressurized cap and not an open vent like the BMW reservoir. I just don't like how the cobra tank looks, and the fittings are not pointed the ideal direction.

I'm working on something that should be better.

Why not plug the hole in the BMW cap ? Wouldn't that make it a high pressure system like factory ?

If you plug the hole it still sprays out the rubber o-ring on the cap.

I sealed my reservoir and added a 10psi grease pressure valve meant for transmissions and what not. It worked great for a while, but now appears to be jammed closed.

Did you notice any improvements in IAT's since the Reservoir was sealed ?
Any leaks from added pressure's ?
Are you running a trunk tank ?

I have installed this kind of tank
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Speedway-Coolant-Expansion-Tank-/261871865293?hash=item3cf8c78dcd
It has pressurized cap, 40 oz. capacity. Works well for me.
