Trans service every 40k, Should I replace conductor plate?

I like to keep my car running tip top. The trans service is now due and I am about to have it done again or I may do it myself at a buddies shop on his lift.

I see some trans rebuild kits, filter kits and some with new conductor plate on ebay. Are all 722.6 transmission the same? To confirm that is what the E55 runs?

Should I change the conductor plate at the same time as trans oil service? Car runs and shifts like a champ. I don't want to mess with something and cause a chain reaction.

I also remember my MB tech telling me he had to drain or add the fluid at a certain temperature or was it checking the level? I forget.

Any suggestions tips, or DIY for the transmission oil?

Anyone have any idea about the conductor plate, that would be nice.

No bro don't change the conductor plate if not needed, do a pan drop and refill, you can change the 13 pin connector as was talked about before since you are there.

Transmission service items - 722.643

I would not bother with conductor plate unless you are seeing errors. Purchase a seal ring, pan gasket, transmission filter, and pilot bushing for the service. There is an additional magnet available for purchase to help keep the metal bits in the pan. I have both magnets in my transmission pan.

Use a hex bit for the drain bolt. A torx bit will chew it up.

Service your rear differential as well.

I was thinking about adding another magnet. Where do you buy it? I know the stock has one. I serviced all my fluids including the rear diff already. Should be good for awhile.
