Front Tire Size (Drag Set Up)

I'm looking for one more multi-spoke spare wheel to get a set of skinnies on the front of my 08 E63 for summer. The spare tire is a 175 55 18.

What size and brand are you guys running on your set ups?

Pictures would be good!

Question. What benefit are you going to see from the skinnies? Just curious.

With skinnies I will obviously run at least two seconds faster in the quarter mile.

Obviously.......

Ya. I'll get a picture later one. I don't think MT makes an 18" skinny. M&H seems to be the most popular among Euro guys. Maybe they are the only company that makes an 18".

Mt makes skinnies for 18s as well.
But be careful with spare tires rims. The tracks here in the NW are pretty strict on stuff. So you may not get to run if the tech guy is not happy. I have seen it go both ways. Look into Weld or CCW. Same company. Also Fikse is local to us in the NW>
You should come down to Portland next summer. Way better track experience. Totally worth the trip. South of Portland at Woodburn there are a few great events as well. Best track prep and most runs period. I hope to have my car back out next year and would not even consider Pacific.

I'm being serious. Tons of guys have proved you don't need a fancy stall or front skinnies to get these cars to hook, 60ft, or ET well.

I want something different more so then any real gains. Pacific is 20 minutes from my house. I want to get the TCU tune, head studs, and new lifters for my car before I beat on it. My budget is done though for now. I was thinking if I could find one more spare, and throw some tires on it I can satisfy my addiction for a little amount spent. The spare on these cars are made in Belgium. I would have to assume they are much safer then any of the Chinese wheels that are on a ton of cars at the track.

Next year I want to bring it down to Shift Sector in Oregon. That would be so awesome. Next year my buddy will have a SL600 out and running with me, maybe a he will have a 65 by then.

That is the size I was thinking about running. I want it to look the way skinnies should. Not like a fat girl wearing high heels. I was going to paint or powder coat the spares to mimic the colors on the factory E63 wheels. Mismatched wheels makes a lil crazy, but it is what it is.

I run skinnies on the OEM spares. had them powder coated to match the rears. tech guy has never said anything.

Cool! That is what I wanted to see. Thanks for taking the time to do that.

I think for me to be happy with the look I would have to go with a CCW.
