so one of my grease seals popped out and bearing is running dry on the pulley underneath SC pulley. need to remove the thing, but iirc i went thru hell installing these botls and a 8mm allen socket is to long and hits fan shroud. other than using a short 8mm allen at a 1/4 turn, does anyone have any input?

Also do you guys have bunch of gunk built up around the ID cavity?

I cut an allen wrench down to about an inch long or so then used a combination wrench the size of the allen... it would be even faster if you use a box wrench with a built in ratchet.

I used a long ratcheting wrench with a small bit. Worked like a charm

They dont have anything. I went there and no luck on a long ratcheting wrench or a small bit.

I bought them on amazon.

Snap on carries a long wrench and bits too but I didnt think I needed to spend money on those parts since im not going to use them often.

You can also buy this kit but it will take longer since it doesnt ratchet like a wrench would.

What about an 8mm headed bolt, slap a few nuts on it, use it as a small bit.

I truly would have preferred a normal 6 point headed bolt in the first place to be supplied.

This.

When I've tried to work on anything in the front without removing the fan, I just end up cutting my hands up and removing the fan anyway.
