How often do you go through tires?

Just curious, how often do you all replace your tires? I know our cars sit at an odd level and am curious how many miles you get from a set of tires..

I replaced all 4 about 12,000mi ago with bridgestone potenzas and I feel like I'm about due for another set just from the feel and vibration. I don't roast mine off intentionally either.

How about it?

Spring-Fall I go through 3-4 sets (roughly 3K per set, track days) and winter usually one set (8K miles).

Used to be 6-10k down to the cords. Bought k-mac bushings, and started doing my own alignments, now it's 30+. That's a whole year for me. I went through 6 grand worth of tires in the first 2 years of ownership. Had to take control of the situation.

30k isn't bad at all. I may ride mine out until spring and then try out some of the new continental DWS 06's.. Tirerack reviews sound promising.. I'm riding on the bridgestone RE970AS potenzas right now... I need something with a little bit of off weather grip for the roads I drive so I doubt I'll slap a summer set on.

30K+ is great compared to before. I'm considering it a win. DWS are super quiet and last well, but don't grip as well as Michelin A/S. I haven't tried the PSS yet.

I used to go through tires like no tomorrow. Didn't matter how I drove the car. Went back to stock height a long time ago and put PSS tires, about 10k miles on the rears. I think I can go another year on these or maybe a little more I hope.

Theres 516 ft lbs of torque, I dont expect the tires to last very long at all. If they are wearing down quick, have your toe checked.

I just replaced Michelin A/S 3s after 10k miles. Rears were showing cord. Probably could have gotten another 3-5k from the front.

Didn't like them anyway.

Holy smokes Batman!

I just had to put some new fronts on for my road worthy certificate as they had slightly scrubbed on the inner edge. Which annoyed me as they were still fine. I got personally 7k km from them. The rears are still the same, two 1/4 mile days, plus about 7k km. They have a fair bit of meat to go. I'll swap to Brisgestone Potenza RE003 once they are done.

Kudos for tracking your E55. Though I can't imagine the other parts you may be going through. I've taken a lot of cars and sport bikes on the Dragon over the years and the E55 isn't one I enjoy on the tight twisties or likely most tracks.

On my W210, 20K miles and all tires look great; I expect to get 35K to 40K out of them.

The W211...not so good. One tire shot at 20K miles; a second marginal; a third not so good; one looks great. I just invested a significant chunk of change into the rear suspension (~$1400) and next week will invest a significant chunk into the front suspension (~ $1800 not including labor) to correct suspension issues. The prices quoted don't include the ~$800 for a new set of tires or the cost of replacing a cracked wheel. Heck, it would be cheaper to replace tires than correct the suspension issues.

FWIW, my old Miata sounds better and better all the time... :-P

I just got 7k miles out of a front set of tires. All of the wear was on the inner shoulder, the result of being lowered and running a wider than stock wheel/tire combo. It was so far on the inside of the tire that I didn't even see it until I was working under my car. Down to the cords on the shoulder, but the tread still had about 75% life remaining.

I have the UPD camber and toe arms in the rear with most of the camber and toe dialed out when the suspension is on comfort mode. The tires were worn a little more on the inside than the outside, so I had them rotated left to right. I'll probably get another 7-10k miles out of them, which is a whole lot better than the 6k I got out of the last set of rear tires before the camber and toe arm upgrade. This is with a few monster burnouts and quite a lot of the flashing triangle.

The specs they align these cars tends to wear the inside of the front tires. I dismount and switch my fronts from side to side once the inners start to show more wear.

Bushings are consumables as well. The E is not fun on twisty roads. It's a total blast on the race track where you can open it up. 60-90MPH bends are a blast in the E at Road Atlanta...not so much fun doing a hole shot out of a corner in first gear with on-coming traffic...

I have a 150mile two way commute. I got 25K on the front so far about 13K on the rear but the rear is at the ware marks. Those are cheap Nexus tires I run for my commute. They are not half bad
