That is the key for newer model MB cars. My 2006 E55 has the upper right key as well.

2003-2006 is upper right, Keyless go for 2003 only had the credit card key, I believe. the lower right is 2007 and newer but if you order a new key you get the lower right one.

I'd love to have the credit card key. Why did they discontinue it?

they integrated the feature into the smart Key. 2003 W211 and 2003 and earlier SL and S came with 2 smart keys and 1 keyless go credit card key. I think they discontinued because people were putting in wallet and breaking them when they sat on them.

you are right the new ones are slightly different panic button is a triangle and each button has its own cover rather than the single flexible plastic cover that always breaks on all the other keys.

I just got a new one for my car, ordered it on Friday picked up on Wednesday $264 out the door.

Hey, at least you can get that AMG key cover now. That's a fair bit of coin for one key. Dealer only, right? AFAIK, only the dealership can code the key.

Just looked up what you are talking about. Think I am going to have to order it up. Yeah it was cut and coded at MB warehouse in Jacksonville. Then sent to dealer.

Remotes are not model specific and the bottom right is no longer the replacement remote.

You go to the dealer and buy one. The only way.

Yeah that's how you do it. Go to the dealer and order the key. It will come to the dealer coded already. It's a TRP item so go prepared with all your documents that it's your car. And they need to see the car present to verify the VIN before releasing the remote.

The brain from the older black key that is on top can be moved into the first Chrome key. There is a service in Europe that does it on Ebay. The guy who did it in US quit recently (drknight).

I have done a few as freebies for members here and on other forum.

Still at 100% success rate. Has to be NON-keyless Go.

I'm doing them for free as long as you provide the keys and postage.

'05s shipped with top right.

Someone probably ordered an extra key after 2006 or 2007 and got the Chrome one.

They keys they ship now look like the Chrome one in the pic, but have triangular Panic button. The 2 different Chrome ones look similar but First Chrome ones actually have more in common with the Black key (2nd ver of Smart key)

The black and Chrome keys in the image I posted have same functions, and use identical EPROM chip, this is why the black one can be upgraded to the Chrome one.
