Ride improvement by raising car
I have seen many come on board the forums here asking about lowering the car and what effect that had on ride quality. I had mine lowered just two days after getting the car, so I was not yet settled in on what the ride quality was prior to the lowering. Therefore, I really didn't realize what effect the lowering of the car had on ride quality.
I had the car lowered so that the top 1/4" or so of the tire was inside the wheelwell. Unfortunately, after the lowering of the car, when turning full wheel travel left or right, the front of the tire would hit the plastic inner fenderwell liner. I didn't care for this, so today I had the car raised about 1/2", so that the wheel well lip is about 1/4" above the top of the tire. It doesn't look as good, although still not bad, but the tire to plastic interference is gone.
I've driven the car quite a bit now, so after having the car raised I realized that I have had a very pleasant side effect, which is a very significant increase in ride quality. I wasn't planning on this, but I am certainly pleased that it occurred.
Hopefully this helps some of you guys planning on raising or lowering your car. The ride quality isn't cloud smooth, which I attribute a lot to the fact that the car has 19" wheels and 30/35 series tires.

It'd a known fact with any suspension that lowering gives it a stiffer/crappier ride quality. Mine is about 1/4" tire to fender gap and it's perfect. Had it a little lower than that and ride quality suffered greatly.

When I was in Cali for vacation I saw a slammed green e500. I couldn't believe how bad that thing was bouncing around. I saw the guy pull over and not sure if it was due to a blown bag. I'm assuming he was on stock suspension.

I'm the opposite. I hate the boaty feeling when driving raised. Feels like i'm in a ocean. However, I completely agree, ride quality goes to shyt when lowered. I like being slammered though.

I drive the car slammed. Tucking all around.
Ride quality definitely goes down but it just looks so damn good.
I'm young... my back can take it
