If a company either buys or produces that item, which is then returned, the company is then out the cost of the item and any fees associated with it (shipping, labor, taxes, etc...). Only if and when the item is sold again does the company make their money back, with if being a big part of that. In the meantime, that cost is a drag on the company's finances.

Disclaimer: I am not speaking directly about MBH's headers, but to restock fees in general.

However, we are talking about MBH and their "restocking fee", as it pertains to the OP. This was MBH's response regarding maintaining stock...

According to MBH, they have attempted to build stock, but were unable to strictly due to demand. Not space, not expense, just demand.

Seeing as how these "orphaned" headers are offered to MBW first, where is the "plea to buy" thread posted after the refund was complete (minus "restocking"). If there wasn't such a thread created, I can only assume the "demand" had already consumed them. Again arousing the question "why pocket a bogus restocking fee?".

Did you buy a set of headers from us? No. Than how would know our customer service is crap? You have no idea. If someone say something.. in your mind it must be true. As got greed, If you only new how little we make off our products you would know we are not greedy. Our stainless steel pricing have gone through the roof and I refused to do a price increase. In turn I make even less. Does that sound like greed?
The situation is I paid for three sets, even until today, I only have two sets in possession. Who falls the map? Who is not picking up at both phones? Who is not answering emails? Who is on the website reading but not responding to PM?

I no longer even need for headers, I ask for refund. Mike sends out headers, but only two sets? Refund the third set so that we can both move on!

I wasn't going to comment because as my mom said, if you have nothing good to say don't say it: so here it goes f it. I called anout a week ago and spoke to some guy named Mike (I think)at mbh. Intold him that I had an e55 and was doing kleeman headers on it. He said "I have no mid section for you kleemanns, none of our setups will work with them!. I told him I didn't care, I still wanted to buy th x pipe midsection he had and that I would modify it to make it work. He said "sorry I can't just sell you the midsection." I was like, alright. Thank you!! Bye!

When I am ready, I will buy my dp's from MBH. The price is reasonable, the terms are reasonable, and the product looks very well made. I happen to know how difficult it is to run a small business. Sadly, like most people, the detractors on this thread probably do not comprehend the risk and expense. It's easy to be an armchair expert and hurl criticism and insults with a few keystrokes. It takes guts, hard work, sacrifice, and lots of stress and long hours to start and grow a successful business.

Damn I love my MBH headers, and Mike was a pleasure to deal with when I bought mine years ago. I had an issue with the driver side and the steering linkage, he sent out a new drivers side within a week at no cost to me. Had them on the car ever since without a single issue. Seems you get what you pay for.

Stay away from MBH

I called this guy Mike at MBH Motorsports and spoke to him and told him I had a 2 week Window to have them in my hand cause I was transporting the car on week 3 and it had to be running by then. He told me no prob piece of cake and charged my card $2700. He was gonna get back to me the next day with an exact ETA and possibly tracking number cause he said he had a vendor that had a set on a shelf he could possibly drop ship. 1 week goes by and I hear nothing.... Emailed once and called 3 times. Week 2 goes by and called about 20 times leaving several messages and emailed another few times. Finally after 2 weeks and 3 days my deadline was up so I found a Renntech set and had them overnighted. I emailed the owner stating i have heard nothing since he took my money and transport was picking my car up on tues and I had to spend 3k on another set and how I have emailed and called over 30 times trying to get ahold of him and his response was "our phones are broke" im posting a pic of that email cause it's suck a weak excuse it's sad. So then he tells me on the phone it's coming along and gonna be another couple weeks. So this would mean about 5 weeks and week 6 I would have them in my hand. So I tell him he failed his end of the deal and I bought Renntech ones cause that's what was immediately availible and he trashes Renntech saying how bad they suck and this and that and only refunded me $2200. He kept $500 as a service charge. Then I got to reading about other people's experiences and they had the same. Took months to get their headers and when they tried to cancel order he keeps $500 as a "I'm a lazy peice of **** fee that didn't Get them built fee" so you can't cancel. Stay away from this fraud buisiness so called header guy. He DOES not deliver anything and keeps your money but will tell you anything you need to hear when placing the order. My credit card reduced my whole amount and Is pursuing him but just warning everybody else not to give this guy anything unless parts are ready to ship or you will not get them for months. Another member told me he waits until he has 3 or more orders to build so it cost him less to have his welder set up the jigs. People on here say He works out of his garage with a Bender and welder and doesn't even have a shop and his charge to your credit card won't match the company you bought from. Total fraud and he is a total joke
I contacted MBH Motorsports and spoke with Mike regarding the purchase of two pairs of headers for my M113K cars. I needed them the sooner the better. He said he would send me a final price, but after a couple of days and a follow-up from my side, he responded that he was still finalizing the shipping costs. After that, he completely disappeared. It’s been about two months since my first call now with no communication back from Mike.

If you're running a business, this is not how you treat customers. He didn’t say he couldn't fulfill the order — instead, he made a promise and then vanished. I would strongly caution others to avoid doing business with them. If you give them your money, you may be left in the dark for an extended period. From my experience, and judging by other poor reviews, they seem to lack the basic professionalism and reliability expected from a legitimate business.
