Front Brakes Dealer Price
What are you paying these days from the dealer for front rotors and pads ?
I just paid over $900.
Was told the service advisor had made a mistake with that quote, that the fronts are normally $1200, but that in their magnanimity they would honor the quote.
Hmmm...

E55 Akebono EUR983 EURO Ultra-Premium Ceramic Front Brake Pad Set $113 - MUCH less dust than OEM
Mercedes (2003+ AMG) Brake Disc Front GENUINE (x2 rotors) E CL SL 55 550 600 $388
$500 in parts
take it to an indy shop and have it done much cheaper than $900
and the dealer quoted me at $1,400 - hence why I went the Akebono route with a buddy to help replace them

You can get front OEM rotors for $330 from AutoHaus:

Textar German pads for $80ish. That seems to be a solid price on the Akebonos for the front. For some reason their item description shows its for rears, on a ML class, so they may have mispriced it.

I just got a S63 AMG 2012 3weeks ago, Mercedes dealer informed me that rear brakes at 60 %, front brakes at 50 %, we made the deal, couple of days ago I dropped the car off for some noise check, and they informed me that the rear brakes 40 % and the front at 80%, I contacted them cause they should've replaced the rear ones before even selling it, the car been on the road 6 times only since I bought, cause I'm using another car.
Does anyone knows whats the minimum brake requirement to change, and whether should the dealership be responsible for that

Get ready for some sticker shock if you pay the dealer to do brakes and need rotors all around. You'll easily be looking at $4,000+ for them to do the fronts and rears. Front rotors are over $1,100 each and the rears are over $700 each.
