Are you using a belt wrap kit also? If so, you'd want a Gates K080530. That's what I use on my 77 with bwk. Without bwk, I'm not sure. Someone else can chime in...

I'm deciding if I should get the 83mm or 77mm sc pulley on my sl55, is the 77mm to rough to ride?? Any thoughts?? Also, sense you mentioned belt, do I have to change mine?

I say go 77mm , yea belt changes bc pulley is smaller now so belt gets saggy, as far as how it rides idk lol i love rawr power so maybe someone else can shine some light on that subject gl tho.

77mm all the way. Makes these cars absolute monsters. You MUST upgrade cooling though or you cannot enjoy the pulley like you should. Heat exchanger upgrade, new I/C pump and split the cooling. Enjoy!

How to: Split the intercooler cooling circuit CL55 E55 SL55 S55 AMG - YouTube
This is the simplest, cheapest way.
Some companies sell a kit with all that's needed.

For several years I have used the Goodyear Gatorback belts which significantly reduce slippage. Continental has acquired U.S. Rubber company Veyance Technologies Inc., the maker of Gatorback belts and has re-branded them as Elite. Veyance has been supplying belts to NASCAR about 20 years. Roush has been using them on all their supercharged setups.

Bro, you'll be fine. We're talking a very small difference, like 3/16". Unless your tensioner is shot, you won't notice a difference whatsoever. My belt was VERY tight getting it over the 77mm.
