Another term for the mere mortals to understand this mind blowing functionality. In a nut shell, the computer senses wet brakes, the calipers squeeze the pads slightly while the car is in motion. Essentially the pads/rotors friction dry the brakes making it safer to slowdown/stop.

I heard that about the CLS55 as well...is a feature on all Mercedes or the E55 and CLS55?

Yes, it's the same braking system. Even the SLR is the same. Same calipers but different rotors (carbon ceramic).

Yes the rain sensor tells the SBC that the car is driving in rain and how hard the rain is. The SBC then lightly drags the brakes to keep water off them to increase the braking efficiency
