How do you launch your car?
I've tried a few different ways to launch and get some traction, but not much success. I try to ease into it, but it'll spin and that's it. I'm curios what settings C or S and D or Manual produce better results. Also. do you accelerate from idle or power-brake to a certain rpm?
BTW-according to a dynojet I've got about 550 rwtq.

Correct. Any difference between M1 or DS? I guess both would be 1st gear. I wonder if in C it stays in 2nd or if it detects WOT and downshifts to 1st. Maybe I can get more grip, I'll try.

My very limited experience at the test n tune the other Saturday says that you can't use brake and throttle simultaneously, the nannies kick in and do not let you have any go at all. Trans in S, suspenders in either C or raised up; I thought maybe that would help with weight transfer, not convinced it made the slightest difference; light about to go green foot off brake and then roll on throttle. What's really needed is drag tires and a lsd. Dunno if I will ever bother with tires but have never driven a car that needs a proper diff more than this one.
Oh and yes to the above, if the car thinks you are trying to get jiggy widdit and you still have the trans in C, it'll go to 1st anyhow. If you roll the loud pedal though it probably won't. Either way it makes for a less than stellar 60' time...

I was hoping to get to the track last weekend but got snowed out! I went for the 1st time last year, best 60 was 2.154 before mods and a mile elevation.
Next set of tires for me will be PS2's I think.

I'd like to echo this statement. There are some hot-shoes amongst us that are very well versed in launching however those with us with less talent have found drag radials to be the easiest answer. To put it into perspective, I can consistently cut 1.6/1.7 60fts with RBJs launching parameters and simply mashing the pedal on MT Et street IIs with no LSD

Im on ET streets. 17x10 wheel, 275/40/17 tire size. Good burnout at the track, leave traction control off, start off in 1st gear in comfort mode, leave the car raised, little brake stand, and mash the **** out of the pedal lol.

The burnout is key. Again though, you Aren't going to hook on the street with 550+ftlbs without a prepped street. Its just not going to happen. And if it does, its going to be from a burnout+the concrete being EXTREMELY hot.

I went to the track once, got horrible 60' times and haven't been back due to that. I have 275-35-18 nitto drags and didn't put car in dyno mode=no burn out. My is300 used to pull 1.6 60' times with 245-40-18 mt street tires no burn out and 500+ whp. So I wouldn't think twice on getting another set of mickey Thompson's.
I have been pondering trying to launch the car with transmission in comfort mode figuring it would stay in second gear, it seems to stay in 2nd if I mash the pedal during take off. Just haven't tried doing that while power braking.

Trying 40-60 different combos and launching methods with my G tech pro my best times were--raised, tranny in S mode. Small burnout. Brake tq to get weight on front end as soon as you let off to launch hit it half way to transfer weight from front to back then gently floor it. Not mash it. With traction controll on and Conti dw's I was getting 1.9's and 1 1.8. I was out 2 hrs one morning trying to get under 2secs. With traction control off its impossible to get these times on street tires for me. I tried everything possible. I'm pretty happy with what I found that works for me. The way I was doing it for over a year got me 2.2 times before I got the G tech

Rear Tires 25 PSI or lower
Suspension in Comfort
Sport Mode Tranny in Drive
Aggressive Burn
Break Stand to 1,100 or 1,200 RPM
When you launch let off the break (immediately) and count "thousand one" (in your head) to get the car rolling.
At "thou...." apply 20% to 100% pressure (depending on traction) on the gas pedal.
The key is being a bit patient and avoiding a "jerk start" (and jerk s/c engagement).
Works in the street or strip.
The break stand RPM can be slightly higher or lower depending on temp, traction, etc.
Agree with all the other comments and factors mentioned.

Went to the track today and had a best 60 of 1.89 and that was with just holding the brake, releasing and applying throttle. Bringing the RPM to 1100 just caused wheel-spin and 60 of 2.04. maybe I wasn't patient enough applying throttle. Best run 12.51. Saw lots of Mustangs, Camaros, SRTs & Hellcats mostly run 13.5 to 14.5. Zo6 and ZR1 doing 12.1 and some were on drag tires vs. my mediocre street tires. CTS v's ran 13 cpe and high 13's wagon. So I'll sleep good with my 12.5 for now.........but how do I get to 11's???!!!

How are hellcats only doing 13s? They need a serious driver mod or something. Those are easily 10 second cars with a drag radials and a driveshaft alone.
You need a better 60ft.
1.9 60, if you cut it down to a 1.6, you'd be in the 11s.
Every tenth off the 60ft should be 2 tenths off the ET.
What did you trap?

12.51@112.98. I was really suprised by my time and the others. So much that I went and asked around most the Camaro and Mustang cars are around 13-14 here. There was a 8 sec. Mustang, twin turbo I think.
I watched the Challenger do several runs, 13-14's. Someone got one of the runs on Youtube.(Bandimere 4/23). I have less power=better grip! lol.
