Help bleeding engine coolant system

Looking to replace the engine coolant on my E55 and I can find the write-up in the WIS, however the technical bulletin describe the use of an vacuum system to fill the radiator coolant. As the cost of such a system is not practical, can anyone provide a work around?

There used to be a good write-up on here, but could find it- maybe someone else with better Search Powers can find it? This is what I found: https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...ed-system.html

it will self bleed over a couple of days, you will have to keep adding coolant during that time

1. Remove coolant reservoir cap
2. Remove two forward belly pans
3. Open radiator drain plug (bottom on drivers side of radiator)
4. Close plug and reinstall pans
5. Fill system with 50/50 ratio water to coolant (best mixed in two jugs)
6. Road test vehicle for 5-10 miles with heater on high
7. Recheck coolant level and correct.

Self bleeding good

Thanks everyone for the reply. The pictures of the vacuum attachment kind of freaked me out. I guess the recommended system speeds the process, but I am a patient man and will save the $$$ that the dealership charges for the flush.

Just getting around to change fluids, Coolant, Oil, and Transmission. Probably going to use an indy for the brake fluid change.

Cheers

Sorry I'm new to MB, just got an E55 this weekend! What are the belly pans? Are those the plastic covers?

Another layer of onion revealed.

I was confused about how the system worked. I thought that the HE circuit was completely separate to the radiator circuit. I found the listed bleeding instructions, but didn't understand that they were related.

Sorry for the nube question.
