How do i remove the clutch pulley off the supercharger???

Hello all

I have a bit of damage on the snout of my supercharger, but to repair it i need to remove the clutch pulley itself.

Now i have removed the supercharger pulley, but theres no nut or bolt for the black clutch pulley behind it.

Iv now taken the snout off expecting there to be a nut on the inside of it, and there just a gearing mechanism behind it. There not nuts or bolts on either side, so are these just pressed together? And of so then how do i pull them apart with damage?

You remove the nut on the front of the pulley. Nothing from inside.

That nut on the front only removes the supercharger pulley, not the clutch mechanism behind it.

If you're talking about removing the supercharger coupling drum , without the special Mercedes tool which is prob $$$ and you'll prob damage it ,you can heat up the end shaf that supercharger pulley bearing sits on to about 320° and it will slide right off ,pull the two little pins out first ,they say to use a special tool to take it off however installing it they say heat to approx 320 and slide on ,i've done it twice if you have a map torch and a handheld infrared temperature sensor that's what I would do,and have a thick pair of gloves lol

If you need that drum I have a new one as well as a new upper pulley.but I'm across the pond in NY

Thanking you very much sir

Thats exactly what i needed to know. I had a feeling they were pressed together, just not 100% sure how. I took it to an engineering firm yesterday to try and pull it off and they rang back today and said the press will just shear it all off and make a complete wreck of it.

But looks like heat is the way forward.

By the way, how do you remove the pins, or do they just pull out?

The most recent released magnetic units have been updated without the pin slots. Even the MB tech was surprised.

As said above, you need to heat it upto about 320 degrees and it should slide off.

Do not try to pull it off, it will all shatter before that pulley moves.
