Best place to buy OEM parts online

Hi, I recently bought my first MB. As you all know, going to your local dealership to buy OEM parts and accessories often means you're paying through the nose.

With prior cars, I've always found that there are a few dealerships in the country that are very well known for selling OEM parts and accessories at greatly discounted parts. For example, everyone in the Nissan/Infiniti community knew to buy from CourtesyParts in Dallas, and for BMW parts, I'd go to Pacific BMW's internet department.

Is there an equivalent dealership or source for Mercedes Parts? There are a lot of places that sell MB parts online, but is there a "go-to" place that you can consistently count on to have good prices and service?

Thanks!

I buy a lot of OEM parts and the 2 sources I use the most (in this order) are huskerparts.com and oediscountparts.com

Huskerparts is run out of the back of a dealer network (husker) in nebraska. They sell for 29% off of list price and have a live person you can talk to buy phone 402-479-7592 (VIC, really helpful). They charge $11.25 flat rate shipping on most all orders. Aside from MBZ, they also sell OE parts for BMW and GM at a discount as well.

Oediscountparts.com sells out of the back of skyland mercedes in Ashville NC. They sell oe mercedes parts at 25% off of list and NO shipping charge on any order over $50 . They are hard to get on the phone, but quick to call you back if you have a question. Tracy is very helpful . They also sell OE parts for Mazda and Chysler at a discount as well.

I have been working with both of these outfits for years and am always happy to recommend them.

When you call Vic, tell him Chris the paddle shift guy sent you and he'll take extra good care of you.

cheers,
Chris

I tried Oediscountparts.com communication was not so good. They did not inform me that a part was on backorder holding up all my other parts. I used to buy from mymercedesparts.com but they are no more. Now I am trying Huskerparts myself ... so far decent communication and reasonable prices. I will have my first shipment from them delivered soon. Seems that all Mercedes parts have shot up in price compared to a few years ago. More than doubling in price in some cases. Sucks for these older vehicles that we need to pay hundreds for single parts. Alternator is a prime example of this .. used to be $240 - $280 and now $450 for remanufactured? Keyless go handles were $120 and now $240+? Nuts ... *Rant* over

By the way if you have a 2016 E63 are you sure you're in the right place? Little early to be looking for parts isn't it? LOL

http://www.pelicanparts.com/Mercedes-Benz/index-SC.htm very easy to find what you need, DIY's with pics, is categorized very well, and much cheaper than the other 2 sites on the 2 parts i just checked.

I often use mboemparts.com. Easy to get on the phone and have most stuff. I've also used parts.com.

Threads like this are great. I recommend adding a folder to your bookmarks toolbar with a link to each of these mentioned in this thread and then check them on the next few parts you are looking for.

I by a considerable amount of new OE parts for Mercedes (and a few other makes)

.... AND, I buy a LOT of paddle shifters for paddle shift conversions so I periodically compare prices before sending a link to a customer who wants to get them directly (I often buy 12 sets at a time so I get a different price : ).

So, I'll plug the part number for the common AMG paddle set in (171 267 0046) and compare the price (for one set shipped)
the first 7 are listed from best to least-best

>> http://www.mbdirectparts.com/ (previously wascalledHuskerparts.com) gets $141 for the pair plus $11.25 shipping (flat rate)
But the customer service from VIC is outstanding making it my #1 source

>> oediscountparts.com gets $149.25 plus free shipping

note: oediscontparts works out the best price-wise for nearly all orders between $50 and $200 .... While Huskerparts is best for orders over $200

>> Driveoemautoparts.com gets $146.37 .... shipping (to CAL) is $9.67

>> mboemparts.com list it for $147.26 but charges $13.87 shipping to me here in California

>> ecstuning.com charges $171.01 and free shipping
I have bought a thing or 2 from these guys (occasionally they have NOS for 1/2 of their already discounted price .... I got a new bypass throttle that lists for near $1000 for less than $400 last year)

>> pelicanparts.com gets $178.50 (YOW!) plus shipping of $7.99 BUT that's not all ... it says "SHIPS IN 3 WEEKS" (this part is max 3 days from any Mbz DIST hub to any dealer and VIC at Husker told me there were 50 pieces in the US network when I ordered a dozen pairs earlier this week)

I cant find a price by part number at these 2 ... (making them not useful to me)
fcpeuro.com has reasonable prices I seam to recall ... but I can't find their "search by part number"

parts.com used to have good prices (25% off of list IIRC) but they added (and perhaps still do) 15% for shipping ... AND NOW I can't find their "search by part number" anymore

On a related note,
Sometimes, I have to buy locally (batteries and theft related items like keys, etc can't be shipped normally). Being in the Silicon valley, I have 3 Mercedes dealers nearby ... 2 sell at list (and sometimes discount from there) and one adds nearly 10% to list and then calls it "list" .... so buyer beware (particularly buyers who go to Mercedes of San Jose on Capitol : )

Cheers,
Chris

I too am a fan of OEdiscount.com l often send Tracy an email and give her a description of what I am looking for. She sends me part descriptions, price and product numbers so I can Confirm it is what I need. I then go to their website and order.

I have spoken with Tracy a number of times on the phone. She has always been very helpful. She really likes Chris (latemodel21) by the way. 😀

I have her direct line (and cell), so we talk occasionally. and I always say, "Hi Tracy : )" on my orders ... She is really nice and has always been pretty helpful. So Please don't tell her I said Husker is better for orders over $200, it'll break her heart ...

Chris

Rockauto or pelicanparts for me.

Iv found Rockauto to usually have a bigger selection but of course most of those arent oem. They both usually list both oem and aftermarket options.

I usually find Rockauto to be slightly cheaper I think.

A few months ago, I would have agreed with you on Rockauto. However, they have sent me parts 3 times now that just don't work. While my labor is "free" it is a waste of time having to assemble and disassemble and even worse if their part damages another part on the car. They are definitely one of the cheaper on-line car parts retailers though. I have never had an issue with returns with them and their customer service is decent, but getting bad/wrong parts gets old.

^^ I live overseas so its an even bigger issue for me if something isnt right. Lucks been on my side so far with Rockauto. Pelican parts sent me a wrong bearing for the driveshaft.... BUT MERCEDES couldnt supply the right part either so I had to wear that one. Annoying as hell though I started a thread on here about it.

Either way its still far far cheaper for me to import parts than go to Mercedes. For instance I had to replace a Harmonic balancer off a s320 CDI recently and merc wanted 1500NZD for the bloody thing.. I ended up buying a second hand one off ebay germany for 150NZD. I think a new one from a aftermarket supplier was 450NZD.

OK well if I were you I would still stay away from Rockauto. Your luck will run out with them. I had them send the wrong glow plug controller (which they claimed was correct) and even plugged right in, Faulty alternator that could not communicate at all on CAN BUS and there was another item a while ago that escapes me right now. They foot the bill for people domestic to the US for shipping but overseas you are SOL if the part is incorrect. I stick to OEM where possible nowadays unless I know the part is manufactured by the OEM manufacturer (eg. Bosch or Graf etc ...). It's not worth my time any how and if you are in NZ, I would imagine it is not worth your time and expense either. Anyway, just some advice and some personal experience.

Eeuroparts.com is a good one too.

I've used ecstuning and pelicanparts too for international shipping. The eeuroparts.com is a new one I've just found to buy a steering angle sensor, and it is 45 cheaper than any of the others listed above.

You are correct ... I was wrong when I said you can no longer search by part number .... it just gave no results for the number I was comparing (171 267 0046).

Curious, I plugged the part number for an exhaust manifold in (113 140 0809) and it did give pricing. I should have been more thorough the other day.

so, for part number 113 140 0809 I compared parts.com with husker and oediscoiunt (and list again from best to least-best)

http://www.mbdirectparts.com/ (was Husker) gets $326.06 plus 11.25 (flat rate) shipping ($337.31)

oediscountparts.com gets $354 plus free shipping ($354.00)

Parts.com gets $325.45 PLUS $39.05 shipping PLUS $2 handling ($366.50)

when I have looked at (and ordered from) Parts.com in the past, they added 15% shipping, but are only adding 12% here ... so perhaps they are trying to be more competitive now ? Of all the sources listed in this thread, Parts.com is in the top 5 .... but still nearly 10% more than Husker

I did look at FCPeuro and Pelican with this part (I did finally find the FCP part search function)

FCPeuro.com $403.99 with free shipping (don't know or care what their free shipping threshold is)

Pelicanparts.com $405 with free shipping (don't know or care what their free shipping threshold is)

Like I said, anyone should check all of the vendors listed in this thread with the part number(s) from there NEXT order and make their own mind up.

Cheers,
Chris

I tried to put an order in on Huskerparts.com just now ... it redirects me to BMWdirectparts.com ... Is anyone else having this issue? I am in China on VPN so it could be an issue with my VPN.

As luck would have it, the Husker Auto group restructured their online parts sales mechanism yesterday. So if you click on the old Husker link, it takes you to the new hub which is bmwdirect.com ... then at the bottom of that page is a link to their newly structured (but with same GREAT prices) Mercedes page. HEAR IS THE NEW LINK TO THE MERCEDES PAGE http://www.mbdirectparts.com/

Vic is still there to answer your questions and give you superior pricing. you can call him direct at 402-479-7592.

I will go back and edit the other Husker links I added to this thread previously.

Cheers,
Chris
