E55 AMG IS Faster Then V10 M5
So far, all the CF I have seen in cars are more decorative than weight saving. Except the F40 which I was lucky enough to experience.
I'm going to trade my E55 in for an STi as its better performing for half the price. NOT!
The E55 does not handle like crap. SUVs handle like crap, pickups handle like crap, econo cars handle like crap, but the E55 does not handle like crap.

Here are some comparisons regarding how the E500 "outhandles" the E55. This is from Road and Track.

FYI. C&D tested E60 530i with grip of 0.9G.
And the new Porsche GT. Beautiful!
The interesting thing about carbon fiber is that you just see the paint applied to this thin piece of material with imperfection due to the texture of the carbon fiber, very interesting indeed.

Didn't they also pick the E55 over E39 M5, RS6, etc.?
.9 better in performance ratings and 2.7 worse in subjective ratings...which obviously can be bias....hence subjective.

Also, two of the three testers would have taken an RS6 over the other three and a 4th and Steve millen chose the E55 but would love to borrow the RS6 for the week long Targa Rally.

I think the E60 M will change these standings quite a bit. It a cycle that will never end......justs rotates from one car to another.
The E55 is just a monster on power....a trait rich in AMG heritage. I also can't wait to see the weight on the E60 M.....they claim it is supposed to be lighter then the E39...don't know how they are going to do that. I hope they can though...that is the main problem with all of the the cars in this class....they all are too portly.

Yes they did...but only due to price (has anyone here paid $76,105 for their E55?). If you look at the Performance and subjective combinded ratings the outcome is a little different.

Not that it matters as I would never buy the RS6 due to the resale value.
The E55 I got was at MSRP. Oh well, I agree the competition is good! Let's hope the new M5 will be exciting. Somewhat disappointed with the torque, but the interior, if it has extensive use of metallic trim pieces may not be that bad. We'll see.

Most of my driving is at 4:30 am on a deserted highway, handling of my very "portly " car is just fine ,thank you very much.
