Best replacement TPMS sensors

Hi All,

My 05 E55 has had the TPMS turned off in Star by a previous owner.
I'm going to get it working again, starting with some new sensors fitted inside the tires. Mine are 315Mhz.
What's the best/most economical replacement these days?
I see the aftermarket (Dorman etc) now offers compatible parts..

THANKS

Excellent. thank you.
$110 for a set of 4 is a great price.

I'm thinking these are not the universal type that needs to be programmed and they should just work as is.

Has anyone used this type before?

Should work out of the box.
Just installed on my 2005 S55 today. It needs to be driven around a bit.

Please come back and let me know the outcome.
I don't want to pay international shipping on junk that doesn't work and is uneconomical to return

THANKS.

I bought a set from http://www.oewheelsllc.com/ pretty reasonable and they were plug in play. you will need to go into the dash and start the learning procedure and then drive the car for 15 minutes or so before the values will start showing up

I don't know yet. Might be selling it today. I will stay in touch with the new owner and let you know. Renee's SL55 has not recognized them yet. Need to put more miles!

The 2005 S55 still shows nothing about TPMS. Must be coded out.
Have not checked the SL55 yet.

Thanks for the update.
I won't buy these until proven to be compatible.

Both cars have over 100 miles and no TPMS. Must need to be "coded in".
Working on that.

I'm sure you've tried this, and I know it's not an W211 you have, but here is the re-activation instructions from the W211 manual. Yours should be very similar?

On Renee's SL55 I think I have them working. Need to drive around for a bit I think.
On my S55 the computer system is much more complicated to code back in. I can see all the sensors though.

Mine arrived today and I installed them inside the tyres within an hour of the Fedex guy leaving
I know a previous owner had TPMS turned off by a dealer at one time.

I connected my Star laptop and turned TPMS back on in the Inst. cluster, central gateway and the TPMS module.
It now shows on the cluster, but no tyre pressure numbers as yet. I've driven for about 15 mins.
I don't have the overhead image of the car, just a message that says 'Tyre pressure monitor reactivated'..
This is what I turned on in Star:

And I seem to be stuck in a loop alternating between these displays:

Does all that look normal?

Do I just need to drive it for longer??

I took a longer drive today and they woke up!
Very happy
Thanks to compaddict for the tip where to purchase the sensors.
