dynamic seat pump... upgrade?
the seat pump in my car failed a few months ago and I bought another on Ebay and now it's died too. Got hot enough to melt the solder off the ground wire to the pump motor. I've heard that some pumps are better than others, that the newer (than '03) ones have fans inside them to keep them from blowing up. I don't know. What seat pump should I get?

There was an upgraded part number. (I do not have it on hand)
The new pump has a fan and opening in the foam to cool the pump, reducing the heat produced and preventing the plastic valve from melting.
You'll want the new pump along with the associated hoses that are needed to adapt to the car.

It is definitely not a rumor as I have it in my car. I'm home now so here is the info from my paperwork:
Below are dealer prices.
bracket - $87
000-800-03-18
hose line - $134000-800-35-15
pump - $765000-800-42-48
Labor $325I recommend doing this yourself. It take a little time and patience, but also give you perspective of what's going on and why stuff failed.

I would but the above info came in a bit after I bought another OE pump on ebay. If and when it fails I will use those part numbers and be done with it.
