You are going to spend $1k to $10k depending on what you want...

What is your budget?

Do you want to keep the Factory Head Unit or Upgrade

Do you want to replace factory speakers?

Are you installing stuff yourself or is someone else doing the work?

My inexpensive build cost me $299 for the head unit, everything else was left over from another build:
Android w211 head unit with upgraded Malysk rom
JL 300/4
JL 500/1
JL 12w6 v2 in ported box in trunk

I eliminated the factory amp and use the 300/4 to drive F/R doors and tweeters up front

I have JL 6.5 components to put up front but have not installed yet

You will lose the rear deck and center speaker doing the way I did it

Do a search there have been some pretty nasty audio builds on this platform

If I had $ to throw at it:
Alpine/Eclipse or maybe a Kenwood 2-din
Focal 6.5s front and rear
JL 150/2 for fronts
300/4 for rear doors and bridge feed to an upgraded center channel
Sound processor for 5.1 sound provisioning
Upgrade to JL 12w7
a huge roll of dynamat bc you are gonna need it
Thats prolly a $10k build installed

Here is some crack to get you started:

Not so crazy $ involved in this one:

I just wanted better sound because I know upgrading the stereo makes a difference, I want some good but cheep so best bang for my buck you know but I don't wanna cheep out on it
And if I were to add subs would I need to rewire the whole car change the amp ect. I'm fine with keeping the stock karmond in there bc it's really good, I just want to play music from my iPhone though the lighting cable whiles it's charging. What's a good head unit to go with & my friend said it's a pain in the *** so don't do it but I really really want to play my own music

Actually I don't even have an aux input I have a IPod 30pin, so I bought a 30pin to lighting cable adapter and that doesn't charge my phone so yeah

Do they make any external receivers so you can keep the head unit in conjunction with an auxiliary receiver to deliver sound to the speakers?

I am waiting for parts to arrive. I have metra axxess aswc, avin MOST adapter for HK, fascia surround, the head unit I chose and 2 fibre optic loops. Hoping to have it done in the next month, modern compatibility with the stock system. USB is my main goal.
