TCU REV LIMIT
Is it the TCU that controlls engine rpm.? DTK sells them and says that limit is raised to 6,700 but not sure if it is a ECU/TCU combination that does it or TCU alone. I cant get a straight answer from him.

Yes the tcu controls the shifting points (rpm of the gears) 6,700 is a limit not the greatest but ok .The major limiting factors when revving past stock rpm points is stock cams and the crappy stock blower which falls off the more boost and revs you throw at it

the increased rev limit will get you minimal gains and over strain blower and internal components. M113 is not really a hard revving motor like the M159 6.2L motors (those motors thrive on revs) E55 is a big torque motor that really doesn't like being bounced off the rev limiter. My 2 cents.

I have seen videos of DTK showing off his TCU unit and revving the car in park all the way past 6k rpm.
Damaging and useless and senseless to rev the engine without any load on it.

Kinda hard to looose a tranny due to the tune being weistec ,but the engine I agree 300%.Drove a dtk v2 tcu actually was veungood and then drove a other one and let me tell you it was horrible!

Too much line pressure on tcu is not good for longevity of the transmission and how high that pos tune revs is crazy
Yes it a stolen tcu tune and most probably stolen ecu tune

I have a "weistec v1" tune I bought off New Zealand's version of ebay. God knows what it really is. I find it pretty much the same as my stock TCU and do not notice any change in shift points. I actually record higher top rev's in torque app on stock but maybe that's because it shifts sooner. The poll rate on the torque app is rubbish too so maybe that has an influence. Manual mode rev limiter is the same in both. I am very interested in what part the ECU plays as my first gear to second shift is so goddamn slow half the time. Especially noticeable at WOT after a kick down feels like the engine throttles itself prior to shifting, letting all the enemy cars past.

Like I said hulk , the v2 with the 6700 rpm limit was good the v1 was a total pos !Now again, his tcu are hit and miss it's either great or crap..If your lucky to get a good v2 you scored if not, then it will be trouble and headaches .

Many think there going to gain 65 whp with heads and cams ,no way!!!its not a ls1 setup ,Amg heads flow very good from the factory and little room for improvements to be had .I like a 03 tcu .
