No, I won't forget the F'ing key!
Seriously... Since the car won't lock with the key inside, is the warning really necessary, immediately, every time I hit the "no go" button?! Does anyone know of a way to turn off the warning, or is it hard-coded into the software? I know in the old days, you could just unplug the "bong" speaker. Obviously these days it's a lot more involved. Not sure why it overly bugs me but I'm not a big fan on stupid nannies. Just wondering if there is a way to override it...
Thanks.
Thanks.

It is very annoying.
The alert only goes off when turn off the car then open your door, right? At that point you can kill the noise by hitting the up arrow on the upper left of the steering wheel.

yes, that does work. I'm having issues with it because i dont want to have to wear out a steering wheel button because i can't disable an annoying chime.

I just checked in my E63 and no chime with the door open and key in the ignition. I have keyless go so my key never leaves my pocket. I just get the message on the screen which doesn't bother me one bit.

I have keyless go as well and I'm guessing there isn't a solution to remedy the chime? I guess my post is more of a rant but I'm not going to remember to hit the up button overtime I open the door. Perhaps I'll get in the habit but it sure is f'ing annoying! Since you can't lock the door with the key in the car, I don't see a need for it. I'll keep searching the settings... Maybe there is a way.

Same experience. Takes a lot of the convenience and luxury feel out of the Keyless Go feature.
My thought so far is: just unplug the chime speaker altogether.

you can code it out with STAR ,, its been a while since I did it but search will turn something up -- I believe you can eliminate the keyless go in CGW and it will still work but chime is gone. another option may be to change CGW to rest of world

That bugs me no end too. I tried to rip the dinger out, but it's like a cricket, can't quite locate it. I'd like to keep the chime to tell me when I've left the lights on, but I'm kind of desensitized now anyway.
A little nervous about turning the kg off in star, it does currently WORK.

It does still chime if you leave the lights on though which is nice to not leave the idiot switch on and have a dead battery

^^^ I love how the car setup classifies Americans as too dumb and the rest of the world as sufficiently aware to not need a ding ding ding to take your key.

If anyone is worried about their lights just put them on "auto".
