2004 E55
new M5 is in Los Angeles

Someone over at 6speedonline snapped some pics of two M5's in the Los Angeles area. They still have a little camouflage on though.

I hope I meet up with one.

I dont know I kind of like it on the outside. It looks like the devil or something. But, the interior fails terribly. This is where MB outshines BMW in every aspect. None of the finnicky i-Drive crap, and other things that make the interior of MBZ products much more elegant and user friendly, while maintaing a level of sportiness all around.

Having owned a BMW 7-series for about a year - I speak from experience in saying you are 100% correct.

The only new Bangled Money Wasted cars I have seen here locally are black and now I know why.

They have been here for months.,..

I have been chasing them around for a while. I always am in the E500 when I come across them and not the E55. If I ever run against on of them I will be sure to let everyone know.

That car sounds great and the brakes look very large in person. I personally like how it looks in person much more than the photos. Its hard to say that but I kind of think it looks nice.

I have also been chasing the new M6 as well and will let you know about that car as well.

The wonders of living on the BMW test route out in the middle of no where

And the drivers they hire to put miles on these emissions test mules are known to race every chance they get!

I also find its looks very disappointing.

Out of all the European manufacturers (VW, Audi, MB, Volvo, Saab, Alfa, Jaguar, Rover, Ferrari, Porsche, Lambo, Bentley, Mini), I find BMW coming up with the ugliest designs nowadays.

In fact, I find the latest Infiniti/Nissan or Honda products much pleasing to my eyes than the new BMWs.

I don't mind the front...

I don't think the car is entirely ugly! I can deal with the front, but that back has to go! I think the 7 series is a good shape, not as good as S-Class, mind you. The 5 has a good front, though. I think an M6 would be cool, anyone know when it's expected to come?

Is it me, or are those wheels very dirty?

one of seven
i too have noticed that the new 5 and 7 series seem to look better in black (almost good - except for the rear end).

the wheels are probably that color not to attract attention and may not be the final wheel.

the interior of the new 5 and 7 series is what i think is the worst feature of all (specifically the i-drive and dash layout). reminds me of a '72 ford falcon!

a major stock picker has just picked bmw as a company to own because it has outperformed other auto manufacturers and other balance sheet based reasons but he left out one important fact and that is that the majority of people dislike the new sedans and that may hurt the future bottom line. only time will tell.

(just my $.05 - used to be $.02 but due to inflation........)

They can run but believe me...they have yet to leave me behind! But it is always a good run. Most are not test drivers (just people hired to put miles on the cars) and well I know these roads better than most so this puts the ball in my courts.

About getting shotsof the inside, they dont stop often and when they do, the are up some driveway wishing I would go away Outside shots are easy but not inside shots...
