Hey guys. i just picked up a 2004 E55 AMG with 43k miles on it.
picked it up from houston tx, then took a 6 days road trip back home here in South Carolina.
As i was driving it back (1200 miles), i generated some questions, hope you guys would willing to help a newbie out. (Came from BMW, this is the first Mer I have ever owned)
1. Coolant temp.
So I knew about the AC hidden menu, so I have been reading my coolant temp during my trips. On my way back , the weather is pretty much consistent (hot humid southern weather 90+), I have noticed that in city with 90+ and stop and go traffic, my coolant temp reached 97c the highest, but drops down to 93-95 once start moving.
Is this normal for our cars?
2. Cooling system.
I have noticed that our car have one eletric fan compared to my E39 M5 (electri and clutch/belt driven fan). which makes me wonder if the stock cooling system is efficient enough for our engines? (I know the split cooling, planing to do it soon, but any upgrades beside the split cooling method?)
3. AC hiddent menu.
I have read a lot about it, but it seems there are more info about the hidden menu on the e63 then e55 (there was a long threads about it on the e63). but i think that it's different in both cars.
Any more info regarding the e55 hidden menu? and how to turn up the ac cooling fan? (the one in the engine bay)
Thank you!

1. Normal
2. Get a PLM heat exchanger (we sell it)
3. Most if the items in the AC menu relate to the HVAC system in the car. You can increase the fan speed via DAS

1. do you have a link for the pml heat exchanger?
2. can you tell me how to do it in the DAS (or if there's a thread for it.)
3. so in the ac hidden menu, i used the driver side temp control to toggle the readings, but what if i touched the passenger side temp control? is that gonna change anything?
Thank you again.
