OK, once and for all, what kind of tires came on you E55?
Mine came with Continental Sport Conti 2's. XL rated in the rears.

Same junk here...
Mine came with the Conti SportContact II's.

Terrible tire!

Loud, no grip, tracks poorly, wears extremely quickly, and has little contact patch with the road.

Clearly I will not buy these tires again when the are toasted. Pilot Sport II's or GS-D3's will be the next set. Had the GS-D3's on my RENNtech C32 and they were the best tire I ever owned in the past 10 years.

The Sport Contact II's on my E500 are 3/4 worn in 4k miles...worst tire wear I have ever seen on any of my past MB's. The E55's tires look ok at 6k miles but the outer tread block is far more worn and feathered than on the E500 (E500 has 32 psi of air all around and the E55 39 psi all around -- and with all that air the E55's fronts still roll over feather on the street). Got to hate understeer!
