Good morning

It's been raining for about 30 hours now, got in the car to head to work and the AC does not blow any air. Really annoying driving in the rain with fogged up windows.

So I wonder if the rain did something to cause it...

What could be wrong?

Seems like it cools air when I touch the vents but no actual blowing happens, I don't hear the blower working.

Fuse? Actuator? What could it be?

Check near the washer fill point, there is a firewall pass through that may have come unseated. It may be allowing water through, though that is an odditiy

My money is on a dead blower motor, if its not blowing hot or cold, just slap a new one in there, they are not that bank breaking... just another foreign car problem

diagnosis without star:
Check fuse, you can google location
Seat, unseat, swap relay there is prolly another with same part number you can test with.
get volt meter turn that sucker on to blow air, check voltage of connector where blower motor is connected
no power = power supply issue = further triage needed
has dc power=replace blower motor behind glove box

There is a DIY on this forum to replace it on MBW

let us know if you figure it out. my E63 has a similar problem where the A/C randomly does stop working. sometimes it takes 15 minutes of driving before it blows cold...other times it'll work then just stop working while driving, then start working again.

its been a while since this happened so I might have resolved the issue without even knowing it. had a few non related repairs done since the last time this was an issue. major issue was resolving a dirty battery terminal which would cause my radio to reboot. that issue went on for something like 6-8 months until the terminal became so dirty my car wouldn't start for 3 days. i removed, cleaned, then hammered the terminal lower onto the battery post to ensure a clean contact.

If its not a fuse, its either the blower motor is out or the regulator. If its anything like the w220, its in the passenger side foot well right under the dash. You pull the cover off and i believe there are 5 torx screws that you have to go at. the regulator is attached to the same piece the blower motor is attached to. You can bench test the blower to determine which needs replacement.

So the fan would come on and off over the past few weeks, usually depending on whether it rained or not. Today it happened again without rain.

I can't find the piece of paper that has all the fuses, and I searched around all over the internet and I can't seem to figure out which fuse it is and where... anybody know exactly????

Can anyone scan their actual piece of paper with the fuses and post it in its own thread?

I saw that one, but which of those is it? It's not exactly listed as blower, or fan, closest one I see is the one that says "suction fan" but the fuse is 150amp which makes no damn sense

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ease-help.html

^according to this it should be somewhere inside, so I'll check the driver side and passenger side yellow fuses for signs...

Anybody know a good source for this fan if it needs replacing? Pelican Parts?

If you have a DMM it could be something stupid on the control board inside the motor housing as well, like a cap. Check capacitors for swelling or burst tops, then if they are busted you can de solder them and replace with another cap from digikey or similar.

I hit the underside of the passenger dash and it's been working since... either way I gotta start looking into a solution for it, I'm guessing just replacing the blower would be easiest.

If it responds to corporal punishment I would check fan contacts for corrosion. Look for any sign of moisture, Too. Let us know what you find.
