'06 E55 Wagon Headrest Removal
When the second-row seats in my '06 E55 Wagon are folded down, their headrests are so close to the back of the front seats that a front-seat passenger cannot move the seat base or seat back far enough rearward. How do I remove the headrests?
The sliding black-plastic headrest "latch" allows only adjustment, not removal. Sliding the latch while pulling up on the headrest results in the headrest rods only coming up so far then hitting some sort of stop. What's the secret for removing the headrests?
Remember, this is a wagon, not a sedan.
Thanks,

This may or not be useful to you:
To remove the front seat headrest, you must remove the back of the seat to access a release button which will allow the headrest to be completely removed.
Is the back of the fold down seat removable?

I've never figured it out in 10 years of owning the car. Once they're folded down, you can move the front seats back a bit.
You're folding the seat bottom up first, right?

Ok, I talked to my housemate who has worked at an indy for 18ish years. He said he's pretty sure you raise it all the way up and give it a yank. I don't know if you hold the latch while doing this (would try it that way first). Basically, don't be gentle while doing it as it takes a bit or force.
