HELP!!630hp e55 buckling issue
Im going crazy lol i dropped so much money on this car its a piece of **** in my mind now. I was getting the car ready for H20i car ran perfect with longtube headers, stock pulley, stock injectors, tony tune.So I'm like why not break 500whp so i got a 550 cc 77mm fixed pulley setup with a tune from tony. i couldn't get in touch with tony so i ended up just getting a custom tune with a tuner to see what was going on with the car. The car buckles when you are in comfort mode and u give half gas but if u floor the **** out of it your having no issues. My car put down 511whp 90 degrees temp and my tuner wasn't able to get me the torque(he got explaining to do). So I'm happy i got a full custom tune from scratch car def feels crazy now. I have contacted a couple of a mechanics for their input and I'm awaiting answers. it feels as if the bypass value is kicking in or the throttle body is shutting down when it buckles. the employee at the shop was saying my boost readings were 20 psi so I'm still waiting to talk to the tuner because thats bull**** should be at 15 psi, and he was telling me my MAF's are bad meanwhile we don't have those sensors so i think he talking out of his ***. My idle is okay on cold start kinda shakey maybe from the one step colder spark plugs and LTH's. If its a vacuum leak it doesnt show up on my CEL, and if its thats the case why didn't it do this before. We tried to put the resistor in the clutch sensor when we first installed the pulley but it buckled even worse so i was told by tony to leave it plugged in. WHO IN NY HAS HAD THIS EXACT PROBLEM IS IT FIXABLE IM ABOUT TO DRIVE THE CAR INTO A TREE IM DYING HELP!!!!!!!!!:bow :

It sounds like you are describing the same thing that I call the "hiccup". Under part throttle, especially going up hill, the car feels like it hits a wall for about a half second.
I was able to reduce mine down to an acceptable level recently by replacing the hose that runs between the throttle body and the valve covers.
Try this: Pull off your airboxes and the intake "Y" pipe, exposing your TB. Pull the rubber hose off the bottom of the TB and inspect it. Does it have a rubber protrusion that is cut at an angle and sticks up inside the TB, or is it a mangled mess of melted rubber? Mine was goobered-up and when I replaced it my "hiccup" was reduced by about 90%.
This is what a new one looks like:
Aside from that, make sure all of the hoses are connected, including the one that goes from the driver-side valve cover to the air intake (between the filter and the "Y" pipe on the driver's side). That one is easy to forget.

Thanks for the advice ill def look into it because my moral level and luck is at a all time low. I'm just so intrigued by the introduction of a pulley how badly my car responded. I'm being told to do a smoke test.

how did you do the smoke test I'm being told that a 10-15 psi typical smoke machine won't work. I was trying to avoid the dealership but it seems like the car is heading that way.

I borrowed a professional-grade smoke tester from a friend. It required shop air at 45psi or higher I believe.

okay i really need to do this, its a high miles 2004 E55 to, so i believe this was more common for my year when guys went FBO. i avoid the hiccup bc i learned how to drive around it but when it occurs how bad is it for the car. Ive been told by tony and my other tuner that its not a big deal. tony told me that many guys drove with it for many years and the solution is usually a vacuum leak that I'm assuming is undetectable by the ecu.

yeah i wouldn't mind if it was a like a minor hiccup but OHH MY GOD its so rough. Like on the dyno i saw the engine move from it lmfao i went home depressed. Like I'm so shocked by how much this car can mess with my emotions, i guess wasted money does those kinds of things. But its nice to see someone else has the same issue. i even caught it on vid.

Post the video so we can see it. Also check the little plug on back of the SC snout. Mine was loose so I RTV'd it to make sure it wasn't leaking. You can also try plugging the TB vacuum port with a vacuum cap and go for a short drive to see if it gets better.

That's way worse than mine ever was. I can see why you're bummed!
Check for vacuum leaks and get one of Tony's tunes loaded.

I got a full custom dyno tune man thought it would help and my tuner had **** explanations but car feels faster now but anyway i kept calling tony but guy is so busy so i ditched his tune so i just ended up getting a dyno tune to see if my tuner can tune it out. tony told me i have vacuum leak but idk it sounds real bad and its aggressive. i just got a front 02 sensor error so I'm currently ordering two new front ones. but idk **** maybe i got a real bad vacuum leak its so bad man.

yes Im going to plug up the new sensors reset ecu with pedal and maybe remove negative on battery leave it over night. then i wanna check everything u mentioned. Then I'm gonna prob ask the dealership for the smoke test or find someone. I'm gonna take a selfie with the biggest smile if i fix this issue lol

The problem is the fixed pulley and improper tuning for it. Fact. End it at that, this advice will save you time and money if you listen. Go to a clutched pulley or have Jerry custom tune it, he did my old 55k fixed pulley. It was expensive to custom tune it but it worked out flawlessly.
