By removing the magnet you are not saving that much rotational mass since the magnet is stationary in the assembly.
We did before we finalized the FSP design and decided against it.
Another thing to consider is that you need a special tool from MB to remove the magnet assembly correctly.

This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Now as far as mr. centerline goes his setup is on a far other level that anyone will achieve on this plat forum...
All I know is if you want to get this gain without chasing headaches buy a fsp from upd and be done.
The Coupler is not some big heavy piece that you may think it is , The problem I have with this set up is once you remove that Coupler how are you securing that aluminum pulley to the Super Charger shaft ,the stock Coupler is a press fit and will never spin I don’t know how this new pulley is secured so it won’t spin , also removing this Coupler can be tricky if you don’t have the special tool from Mercedes ,you have to heat up the center of the Coupler while using a puller and be very careful removing it ,look at picture ,it is thin and flimsy and will bend easily.Removing the magnet is not difficult ,at least the one I removed was secured with a retaining ring .
The Clutch Back can be removed with a gear puller you can rent from autozone, This pulley design removes almost 7lbs of rotational mass vs a stock pulley setup, and 4lbs from a traditional fixed pulley setup. our pulley weighs in at only 8oz.
That is not including the magnet, (not rotating) which weighs about 7lbs itself.

One item to keep in mind is the rear bearings. Stock the supercharger is rotating intermittently (depending upon how hard you drive the car) yet multiple individuals describe the rear bearings drying out and failing. The replacement bearings are produced intermittently in small lots with a lead time of almost a year (a few sets are still available in Australia and I have two sets). Everything has its cost/benefit ratio. I would say this one is less rotational inertia (good) but potentially reduced bearing life (bad). Go in to this with your eyes wide open. But it is good to see vendors thinking "out of the box".
FWIW, I recently received my supercharger rebuild kit from Benz Performance out of Australia. I'll post observations on it this weekend after I pull a D service on my car.

Precision Machining. The pulleys come predrilled for the pins, the pulley and pins have to be tapped in with loctite. we have torture tested the crap out of these pulleys and haven't had any issues. infact our first test pulley was running with 1 pin without issues.
