question
what was the first year it came out was it 95?.......... did mb ever change from a 5.4 to a 5.5 at any point...... and what are the hp umbers from the w210 to the w211

I thought the W210 E55 was launched in the US in 1998 or 1999. W211 was launched in 2003. Engine displacement has not changed at 5.4L. Difference is they just added a supercharger on the W211.

The first year of the W210 I believe was '99 - It was touted as the fastest sedan (beating the gs400 f/'98) you could buy. It lost that title to the M5 on 2000. -- so I believe '99 was indeed the first year.
The Perf. figures for the W210 were 349 HP & 390+ lbs ot trq.
The Perf. figures for the W211 are 469 HP & 516 lbs of trq.
